Happy New Year, guys! *loves on her bb's.... I FEEEEEL YOU JOHAAAAANNAAAAA*
I know I haven't been posting for a while. And I have a very valid reason for this: within a week of my last post, I have given into my building curiosity and become completely and irreparably obsessed with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
HOLY SHIT. That might be the most epic thing I have ever watched. Ever. Ever ever EVER.
Yes, I did just finish it about a half hour ago.
O.O
MY MOOD SAYS IMPRESSED BUT THAT ISN'T EVEN THE WORD FOR IT. *hands*
I haven't been this shaken by the sheer AWESOME of a series since Full Metal fucking Alchemist, and that series ate my LIFE for a good year or so. Holy shiiiiiiiit. I don't even have coherent thoughts on TTGL, really. It doesn't give you the big answers about life, the universe, and everything, it uses them as reasons to punch holes in the fabric of space-time (I AM NOT KIDDING). It's not realistic by any stretch of the imagination. It has fanservice and pig-moles and robots the size of UNIVERSES. I have never suspended my disbelief nearly as hard for anything as for this series.
And yet, all this makes it EVEN BETTER. It's awesome and inspiring and touching in the most kick-ass way possible (I might have cried about 3 separate times, twice within about 2 minutes of each other in the second to last episode), and most of all, it's fucking FUN. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but it sure as HELL was mine right about now. Cheesy as this is going to sound, seeing Simon leading the Dai-Gurren-dan to overcome all these obstacles and save the entire universe with the pure power of human will? It really does make you feel like nothing is impossible.
(also, like everyone else who's seen this show, I would very much like to bear Kamina's children. DAMN IT ALL.)
tengen toppa gurren lagann,
who the fuck do you think we are,
sweet hangs
