It wasn't long before the strange youkai returned, his air of arrogance imposing on the dragons' sensitive senses as an elder rushed them into a cramped cave far from their home.
“This,” the elder growled, “is your new instructor.” He paused at the shudder that violently shook Ah-Un, narrowing his burgundy eyes at them and shaking out his moss-like mane. “He has travelled a long way to be here, and I am certain that you will show him nothing but the proper respect.”
“'Course, we will.” Un spoke as politely as he could, only the grinding of his teeth betraying how unimpressed he actually was.
“Yeah,” Ah continued where his brother left off, “We will show sensei all of the respect he deserves.”
The smirk that passed across the stranger's face held dark promises that made them both shiver with fear.
Respect indeed.
