I guessed I skipped August, and all I could think is blaming the salt air it brought. Don't worry if you didn't get it, as it only applies to a certain fandom.
Anyway, here we are in the last stretch of September and I am finally adding more dent in my paid leaves. We get 20 each year, not counting sick leaves, and other personal and emergency leaves, but in total, we roughly get about 42? Assuming we count other special leaves that are paid. But for the most part, we only get 20 days of regular paid leaves, in which I still have 19! Well, I'll be subtracting 3 more come Monday, and might add another one just for the lolz..dunno~ Well, IUs cinematic concert will be shown on the 28th and 30th, but I have work on the Thursday and a game on Saturday, rendering me unable to attend. Speaking of concerts, I am attending One OK Rock's 3rd concert in the country this coming Tuesday. Yay me, but boo me, since I'm going in alone.
I haven't been in to concerts, but there were few that I got to experience by luck and or mandatory since those we mostly minor if not private events to begin with. There was this one concert that felt a bit major which I poured money into and it's probably the most concert-ish or that one event that made me realize how different it is from just listening the songs over media. There's something about the energy with the live performance that never dawned on me with others as probably I wasn't that interested with those artist/groups/band. Seeing Back-On live was really a game changer, albeit alone and feeling awkward in the sea of people, it was a bit empowering and captivating how everyone around you band their heads off. After that, I tried to set my sights for any concerts in which I feel attuned with the band or artist but never did I got the chance. It's either I was short of funds as how crazy those ticket prizes goes, or with scheduling as most were in the middle of a working week in which someone from my team had to take beforehand.
One OK Rock had two concerts already here and I missed both due to those circumstances. Now I'm not really a die hard fan to be fully frustrated, but I do casually enjoy their music and it's not common you get to see some Japanese band perform here in the country. I was geared up and ready for their 3rd concert when the pandemic hit and as a bit frustrated as I am, I wasn't able to brood over it being a mere casual. Heck, I only learned about the ticket selling for their reattempt a few days before. Seeing I was able to go all out with Taylor's - story for another time, I went gungho with it and scrambled for the tickets. It felt like three days of constant calculating of expenses, but I was able to manage. Luckily I did get to score one and learned of a few people attending as well. I guess, despite not being close in proximity, knowing I would know someone in sea of the crowd is a bit reassuring and less lonely.
So here's to hoping it would be an awesome concert experience. I know some of their songs, and most of it I can jive with so it's not entirely a waste. I wouldn't be this excited if I only know too little of them. Despite, being casual I still hold a level of respect and awe to their efforts branching out trying to reach a wider international audience. That's mostly the reason for being a fan, but still.
Maybe I'll comeback Wednesday to tell you the experience and even get into the Taylor business, or maybe I'll just rant over my whole August-September, or just disappear again for months and or years...Oh LJ, some things are just hard to maintain. See you.
