I have just been accused - rather unfairly, I think - of over-analyzing and ruining everything.

First off, "everything" is far too general. I don't have the TIME to crap on everything.

Also, for the record, I enjoy the movie Idle Hands thoroughly and unironically.

Hah! I just did a lecture on "Twilight Sucks." I will not budge from the opinion that those are very bad books. One of my students aptly described them as "Fairies with Fangs" (not the slur, the mythical creatures.)

This is the second librarian I've seen referring to getting to teach classes on fandom matters. I wonder why in the flaming hell I went through the process of getting a degree apiece in writing and literature, when apparently, if I wanted to teach fun stuff, I should have been memorizing the Dewey Decimal system - and if anyone gets pissed about that comment, they can suck it. I can out-research anyone with a Library Science degree even if I handicap myself with a migraine, six Mudslides, a broken index finger and a bout of IBS.

Did I mention I minored in Talking the Smack?

I feel bad - you and I rarely talk, and one of the few times we do, I flip my shit. My bad!
I have been paying attention to your work, though. I think your proposal sounds interesting! It's not my field, so I'm a more passive recipient than an informed one, but still.

LOL! i haven't read Twilight and have no intention of doing so, because i strongly suspect they would make me so angry i would throw them across the room.

thanks :D there's a lot to be said for being a passive recipient of interesting things; i do it all the time (especially on the internet).
