Resurrection, Books, A Japanese Steakhouse, and Slave-girls

Ok.

It's kinda insane that I'm actually trying to update this thing on anything even closely resembling a regular basis...but here we are. I think I honestly had forgotten about this site completely and through some random surfing of old links saved to my favorites I ended up here, basically thought about how long I've had this journal, and convinced myself that it's a damn shame that I don't still update.

Something else I want to touch on is what I see when I look back on old entries. I was pretty vague and never really got too personal with my use of this space, and that's something I plan on changing now.

Who knows if any of this will actually follow through. I tend to get really passionate and excited about something only to let it die and run off the the next big thing only days or even moments later.

Something else that I want to change, and this has more to do with me than this space in general, is that I want to start reading more. When I was younger I'd read like crazy...but the past nine years or so I've only picked up a few here and there. I live in a pretty small, pretty shitty town and there's really just not a lot to do with whatever spare time I have to myself.

This past week, after having a rather regular religious conversation with a friend at work, I went to Amazon and ordered several books on the subject. I have this interest/curiosity for why people believe some of the things that the do, and even more HOW they believe when we live in a world that contradicts a lot of the things that are included in the belief-systems of the world's major religions. To summarize: I just don't get it and find it pretty hilarious at the same time. All of the books were just really interesting and it's pretty much what got me on the reading-kick that I'm on. So there's that.

Just last night Higgins and I went out with another couple to eat and had a great time. The food was awesome and the cook (it was a Japanese-Steakhouse so they come out and prepare everything right in front of you) was hilarious and just a fucking master of his craft. The guy was basically the Pai Mei of cooking. I shit you not, there was even a moment where he twirled his knife around several times before calmly shoving it into the holster. I will never eat there again unless he's cooking for us.

This is a break from the usual which consists of Higgins and Mandy buying food, preparing it for me, and then all of us jumping into bed to watch a movie or some tv. What guy wouldn't love that? Simple logic will tell you two girls are better than one. ;) In all seriousness they're getting damn good at cooking. A few nights ago they made lasagna and I couldn't believe how good it turned out. I'm always making smart-ass comments whenever they tell me what their next culinary adventure is...and so far I've been proven to be a complete ass every single time.

But that's usually the part I play.

Later kiddos.
