When you can't prove that something is real, it means it might actually be real - so long as you can't disprove it. For example, we know that a human being can't shrink down the size of a penny. That can be disproven; we know it not to be true. However, while no one can prove God exists, no one can disprove it, either. That means it's possible God exists. And if you consider that God is whatever created us, than it's certain he DOES exist, even if he is nature itself.

It's kind of fascinating when you think of it: man has been around for a very long time, and yet we know nothing of death. It is the one true mystery of life. People tend to think, who cares how we got here- where are we going? All creatures, human, dog, pig, ant - as a whole, they all fear death. You'll see an insect fleeing the fly swatter, the lion protecting his cubs. No species wants to die, nor takes death readily. So what does this mean? We are born with an awareness of death. Because we must protect ourselves from it, we are also born fearful.

Man may have created the idea of an afterlife to nurse his own fears of dying. Did we create heaven so that we wouldn't have to worry about dying?
And if there really is a heaven, why are strict Christians so afraid of death?

David, have you seen Waking Life?
