That probably means your first professor didn't teach you what she was supposed to. It might be for the best if you're planning to continue.

Actually, my first instructor did a great job! I made a B+ on my final, given by an actual Russian professor from UGA.

This new instructor is a student teacher and this is her first semester teaching. It seems like she's really relying on this textbook as a crutch for her own inexperience. Whenever we ask her to clarify anything, she always has to consult the book first... :\
