BAWWW TOONAMI~
Watching Outlaw Star has made me all nostalgic for the good old days when I would come home after school and - like all lazy American children of the '90s - plop down in front of the TV to watch them crazy Japanese cartoons. Damn, we had it so good back then! Before the anime bubble burst. :(
Now the only anime you see on TV is your basic shonen fare. But back then, we had such variety! I went back and searched for those awesome Toonami promos they used to air and I'm amazed at some of the stuff we were able to watch! Shows that would be an almost impossible sell to TV stations nowadays...
This one, entitled "Dreams," is arguably their most famous video, focusing on the unlimited potential of youth and incorporating clips from almost every anime they ever had. (It also has a plethora of awesome Outlaw Star quotes!)
Toonami also predicted the eventual downfall of mankind via sentient robots. (So much Big O in this one, I love it!)
Such is the exhilaration of space travel... (Haha, that Tenchi promo at the end makes me smile.)
Finally, a tribute to the sheer mindfuckery of it all. (I still can't believe they let children watch Blue Submarine No. 6!)
