It is apparently futile to press the matter any further. Sooner of later I will accept the fact that this computer hosts self-terminating programs and I shall simply have to get over that. After all, in the grand scheme of things it is only a minuet problem (though still quite problematic.) Perhaps I shall just reinstall the faulty program from scratch and pray that the next time I choose to activate my browser it won't incinerate itself.
