Okay. I opened a live journal account and didn't find it all that user friendly. I probably wouldn't find a remote control all that user friendly at 2am, either, so perhaps I should give it another shot ( Read more... )

I'm from feedyourmind. Hope you don't mind my comments in your personal journal.

To post, go to LiveJournal's front page. Hold your mouse over the Journal tab, and click Update. Type in your subject and the body of youe entry. Now the more complicated stuff.

The security of your entry can be Public, Private, Friends, or a Custom set-up.

Public: Absolutely everyone can see it, whether or not they have an LJ account.
Private: Only you can see it. It will not be visible to anyone else, logged in or not.
Friends: People you have designated as friends can see it when they are logged in. I do this for my journal- greater degree of privacy.
Custom: You have created different groups you can allow to see something.

In the Music line, just put in whatever you're listening to. For Moods, you can pick one from the drop-down bar which will have a picture, or you can have text only by entering something into the second box.

Beneath that are tags- keywords for each entry. Enter a few if you'd like, they're optional.

Over in the other column, there's the checkbox to backdate an entry. You usually will not need this unless you're posting an entry that was meant to be in the past.

Comment settings determine whether some can make a comment on one of your entries. Default means that people can leave comments. Disabled means that no one can comment. 'Don't Email' means that it will not send you notification.

Don't worry about screening comments; but the last thing beneath that is to choose which userpic is associated with that entry.
