i have recently been trying to ween myself off the internet. i was good today, i only checked my e-mail twice today, once when i woke up and right now, before bed. same for facebook and lj.
i've come to the conclusion that i need to do more and think less about doing something, anything. and i thank whitney for that realization.
because the internet is an addiction, an addiction to limitless knowledge, only a click away. or a lifeline which can become a paralyzing crutch, a distraction which can morph into absolute consumption. in constantly searching the internet for something, a glimmer of connection, you can end up wasting your life and missing the many more obvious connections in front of you. good stories don't come from surfing the internet.
music is an addiction too, and maybe i will elaborate on that later, but for now, i am trying to ween myself away from the internet. one day at a time.
