Army Life

Ah June, my favorite month of the year. Not because it’s my birthday month,  it’s just something about it I love. Maybe it’s the name “June” or the how it signals half of the year is over. Eh, who knows? Lol. Let me just get to today’s entry without ranting to much.

Some of you might recall me complaining about my bad allergies and how I felt it made some days a bit difficult. Well I just got a letter from the Bermuda regiment, confirming that I do not have to go to the army! I am so relieved lol. It’s about time these allergies came to some good use. Not that I’m helpless or anything, but there was no way I could survive in the army, not like this. Almost anything can trigger my allergies of, extreme heat, stress, certain foods, you name it. Still, part of me is a bit disappointed. Going to the army would have given me the chance to build on my strength. Then again, I noticed my muscles have slightly increased. Lifting all of those heavy buckets of water, and larger animals has really been doing me some favors.

Of course some of my other friends weren’t as lucky as me. It has been about a month since they have joined and they tell me how much they hate it, not that I blame them. It seems to me that everybody encounters somebody that picks on you and gives you a very hard time. Then again, duh…it’s the army! It’s just a shame to hear my friends being so miserable. I would tell them “try to make the best out of it, it shouldn’t be that bad,” but they might think I’m only saying it because I’m not in the army with them. So I’m not even going to go there. Kevin was telling me how many cadets were fainting right beside them, falling face first, right into the concrete at this Bermuda parade a few days ago. I guess standing in the blazing hot sun for a whole hour without moving a inch can do that to some people. Apparently nobody who is still standing is allowed to help because they will get fined, which I find sad. I would have defiantly gotten in trouble, because if there was a person who fainted next to me, I’d be there to help before they hit the ground. No matter what the punishment may be, and I mean it. Bermuda is celebrating the Queen’s birthday next week, so I am attending the parade. I just hope not many people faint that day.

Oh and I encountered the guy who lost part of his finger at work the other day. His entire left arm was in a sling, and he addressed me as if nothing was wrong. So I’m happy to see that he is doing much better.

Heh…that’s all for today.
