Some Tips Before Going to A Recruiter From A Military Wife

Tip 1: Do not believe a word they say

Tip 2: Do not believe a WORD THEY SAY

Tip 3: Even if the signing bonus is less, opt for the shortest contract you can find, you can always ALWAYS re-enlist, change your MOS (your job), or your unit if its a wrong fit. If they tell you it is difficult or you might not get the same unit they are lying. :D

Tip 4: Do not let them talk you into anything no matter how good the money sounds.

Tip 5: Before going in I would brush up on typical SAT and ACT type of stuff, you will take a test that will determine what kind of job you qualify for. Obviously it goes without saying that you are a smart enough dude to not get stuck as a grunt.

and finally Tip Six: Make sure that you have your ducks in a row. Any kind of law issues (no that you have them but just in case) or outstanding anything get it taken care of, or you will get a lower security clearance and it will knock you out of the running for the cool jobs. Jared had a loan out with school which he had not made payments on that prevented him from going Military Intelligence, and we RUE THE DAYS we could have taken to make payments before going into the recruiter.

That's about it for me, I think you're making a smart choice. Oh. Don't go Marines. Just. Yeah. No.
