Jin had dropped them at Alex’s apartment and hand in hand, Alex pulled him towards the apartment’s entrance. Kame didn’t know if people were staring at them, because his eyes are only on Alex. When they finally alone in the elevator, Alex pushed him gently against the wall and started kissing him.

They only let go of each other when they heard the loud ding from the elevator and still in daze and breathless, the younger man pulled him towards the corridor and during their way towards Alex’s apartment, they kept on kissing playfully.

“As I expected.”

A male voice pulled them away from their kissing rendezvous and Kame really felt that he knew the owner of the voice.

Kame turned to look at the person standing in front of them and he felt his heart drop.

“Daigo?”

It was his ex and instead of looking at him, the other man was staring straight at Alex.

“You fucker!” Daigo snarled and lunged towards Alex for a punch. It had happened so fast that Kame could only stare at the scene in front of him.

Daigo kept on throwing out punches and Alex didn’t even retaliate. Kame felt sick in his stomach, a feeling of dread filled him.

“Daigo,” Kame shouted as he tried to pull the other man off of Alex.

Daigo stopped his punches and stood up, breathing harshly, eyes glaring on the other before turning to him. Kame could already see a bruise forming around Alex’s right eye.

“What the hell are you doing?” Kame asked angrily, pulling Alex back on his feet and when the younger man finally stands up, he caught Kame’s hand urgently and held on it tightly.

“Why don’t you ask him?”

Kame furrowed his brows in confusion as he turned towards Alex and Alex had a strange look on his face.

Then something clicked in his head.

“You tell me that you didn’t know him,” Kame said steely and the grip on his hand turns tighter.

“I can explain,” Alex looked at him pleadingly and Kame quickly looked away. He had a question right on the tip of his tongue and he didn’t know if he should ask them about it. He didn’t know if he could handle it if he’s suspicion was right.

But he needs to know.

“Is he the man that you cheated on me with?” Kame looked straight at Daigo.

“Kame, you should hear me first,” Alex pleaded and Kame refused to turn his head to look at the other.

“Is he?”

“Kame, please…” Alex continued to plead.

“Yes.”

It felt like someone just slapped him right on his face, but instead of his face, it was his heart that is hurting. And it was shockingly painful.

“Kame… please…” Alex turned Kame’s face with his hands to look at him and Kame closed his eyes. He didn’t want to look at the other’s face right now.

“Kame, please… look at me…”

He struggled himself away from Alex’s hold and stepped back, away from Daigo and Alex.

“Did you know all this time? Since the first time we met, did you know?” Now that anger finally seeped into him, he looked at Alex sharply.

“He seduced me on intention for us to break up, so that he can get to you,” Daigo answered for him and Kame looked at Alex in disbelief.

“What?”

Alex didn’t even deny it. “I wanted you. That first time I saw you at Milan, I wanted you.”

Kame flinched when Alex tried to reach out for him, backing away and Alex flashed him a hurt look.

“You wanted me and to achieve that, you make my boyfriend cheated on me?”

Alex gazed at him, his perfect green eyes are already glistening and he could see the desperation in the younger man’s expression.

“Kame…”

“Get the fuck away,” Kame said shakily, feeling betrayed. How could he?

“You wanted me you said?”

“Yes,” Alex replied in a whisper, “Kame, I lov-”

Kame scoffed loudly, shaking his head in disbelief, refusing to hear the excuses coming from the other man.

He then looked at Daigo. “I might be in a shitty situation right now, but I’m happy that you get what you deserved. How does it feel to be treated like you meant nothing?”

Daigo looked at him in shock and without a word stomped away in a loud huff. Realizing that now it was only him and Alex left standing at the corridor, he turned towards the other.

“It had been nice being with you, but I don’t think I could see you the same way as before.”

He had liked Alex. A lot. And if he did dig hard enough into his heart, he knew that his feelings could be more than that.

His heart twinge in pain and Kame closed his eyes in frustration because he just realized that he already did feel more towards the other.

“I love you,” Alex whispered and Kame shook his head.

“No you’re not in love with me. It’s not love. Why would a boy…” he spat, “…like you knew about love? What you had is just a childish obsession. You wanted me and you had me.”

Kame refused to be vulnerable one so he steeled himself and looked at the other straight in the eye. He knew that he is a good actor and he forced back the tears when he said, “And I had you. Thanks for the good lay.”

Alex’s face scrunched up, as if he was in pain and Kame looked away because it hurts him to look at that. And without another word, Kame just left.

When he entered Jin’s apartment, Jin gave him a questioning look but Kame just ignored it and went straight towards his room and locked it. He really didn’t want Jin to ask him about it yet. He had cried his eyes out in the cab ignoring the horrified look on the cab’s driver face.

And as if in cue, his phone started to ring.

‘Tat-chan’

He stared at the caller ID, contemplating on whether to answer it or not.

“Hello?”

“Finally, do you know how…?” Tat-chan angry voice trailed off and being replaced with a concern tone, “Kame? What happen? You didn’t sound too good.”

“I just had the worst day of my life,” Kame replied tiredly, “Not even anything you’re going to say are going to make it worst than what had happened.”

“What happened?”

“I really don’t know how to put them into short and sweet sentences. Are you willing to hear the long version?”

“You already had me at short and sweet.”

Kame couldn’t help to smile. Taking a deep breath, he started to talk.

“Thank fuck,” Tat-chan said in a please tone and Kame scoffed in disbelief.

“I am telling you all about my woes and you are pleased?”

Tat-chan sighed and from the sound of it, he could see the way his friend rolled his eyes in irritation.

“Although Alex is a jerk, I am pleased that he made that asshole breaks up with you. I really couldn’t stand that pompous ass.”

Kame couldn’t help to smile at the comment.

“So…” Ueda started again, “From what I heard from you, it’s obvious that you hold strong feelings for this Alex.”

Kame really didn’t want to comment on that statement.

It was quiet for a moment, then Tat-chan started to curse loudly and in cue, Kame received a message.

“I almost forgot all about it. You need to see that picture ASAP,” the other told him and in confusion, Kame opened his inbox just to see a picture of him and Alex in a place that looks like a grocery store.

Kame connected the line back asking urgently, “How did you get that picture?”

“A fan of your model boyfriend posted it in her blog and someone from that blog recognizes you and then the picture just went viral.”

Wow. Okay. Um. “Is that why you had been calling me?”

“Yes. Johnny-san was agitated and some of the juniors just came into our dressing room crying about why they wouldn’t have a chance with you anymore.”

Tat-chan sighed, “I really think you should cut your vacation short Kame. Although that the agency had stopped all the media madness speculations, we really think that you should come back to Japan to settle this one down with Johnny-san.”

Kame didn’t know what to say to that. Tat-chan was right. He should come back to Japan and face the music but then the thought of Alex made him wanted to stay.

Despite what had happened with Alex, he really didn’t want to leave.

As if knowing his hesitance, the other man sighed, “Just go to him Kame.”

“I don’t know if I could see him and not lost my head.”

“I don’t know if I am right, but the way you told me about him, I dare to say what he feels is not a childish obsession.”

“But…”

“I know that being with him is not right for your career, but that picture Kame.” Tat-chan sighed, “You looked happy and it has been a while since you looked that way.”

Tat-chan continues to talk, “The last time I’ve seen that look on your face was when you had that idiotic crush on Jin.”

Kame grimaced at the mention of that. It had been an idiotic phase in his life. He was glad that Jin was okay about it when he knew and that their friendship is still going on strong.

“You know what,” Tat-chan just kept on talking, “I changed my mind. I don’t want you to go back until you had settled your issues with Alex. I really don’t want to handle a heartbroken drama queen just yet.”

“Fuck you,” Kame grumbled.

“Sort it out Kame,” Tat-chan told him firmly. “Don’t leave without talking to him properly. I don’t want you to regret anything.”

“I know.”

Kame didn’t do anything about it. He just ignored it and hoped that it would go away quietly. A week has gone by but what had happened still stuck in his head.

Jin had been asking him about why he and Alex didn’t talk to each other anymore but Kame just kept his mouth shut and shrugged lightly. He didn’t want to drag Jin into the mess because he knew that Jin would berate himself for pushing him and Alex together.

Kame glanced at the figure standing at the other end of the table. They didn’t avoid each other but they never acknowledge each other’s existence after that day.

He scoffed to himself when he remembered what Tat-chan had told him. Serious feelings? Unlikely.

“Come on now Kame, why are you acting like this?”

Kame rolled his eyes in irritation. Jin just wouldn’t let it go.

“I am acting like usual,” he sipped his beer, acting nonchalant.

“You didn’t even look at Alex properly despite the fact that you and him were all over each other just last week.”

“Did you ask him this too Jin?” Kame asked tiredly.

“Yes!” Jin whispered harshly in frustration. “I’d asked him and he just said that it didn’t work out.”

Ouch. That kind of hurts. But Kame just schooled his features and shrugged again.

“So, there you go. You got your answer.”

Jin was still staring at him closely and he knew that look. When the other had that look it always meant that he would never ever let it go. Jin grunted in dissatisfaction and without a word tugged on his elbows pulled him into the men’s room.

“Gossiping in the men’s room? Classy.” Kame commented sardonically.

“Kame don’t even try, I know that every time you feel vulnerable you’ll be a bitch.” Jin replied with his brows rising smugly.

Kame gritted his teeth in exasperation. Jin just wouldn’t want to let it go.

“Do you really want to know?” Kame snapped. “And if you did know what would you do about it? You’re not going to help anything so just back off okay!”

Jin didn’t even flinched, instead he just step closer and pulled him gently by his elbows.

“He’s a wreck Kame and I know that you are too.”

Kame scoffed. “Him? A wreck? Did you see him Jin? Did you see how he flirted with everyone in the room?”

“Ka-…”

Someone walked in and cut Jin short. The man looked at them wide-eyed in surprise and then blushed furiously as he left the room. For a while both of them just stared at the door, dumbfounded.

“Did you see his face?” Jin asked in amusement.

Kame couldn’t help to let out a soft chuckle. “He really thought that we’re going to have hot man sex.”

Jin laughed at that but then he sighed softly. “You do know that I really care about you right?”

“Yeah,” Kame sighed back.

“I know that you wouldn’t tell me anything but can you please talk to him?” then Jin added, “And I also know that you didn’t believe me when I said that he’s a wreck but you got to trust me. He is.”

Kame really wanted to tell Jin what had happened but he couldn’t. Jin really liked Alex and although Alex had been a jerk, he is a good friend to Jin.

He wouldn’t want to force Jin to choose sides.

Kame decided he should man up and be the matured one in trying to sort this thing between him and Alex. He would talk. For Jin.

Kame stared at the white ball in his hand as he nervously waits for the door in front of him to open. He hadn’t expected that Alex would let him up but he did and here he is.

He could feel the door opened and he took a deep breath before raising his head to look at the other.

“Hey,” Alex greeted, looking flustered.

“Hey,” Kame greeted back and before he could back out, he quickly said, “We need to talk.”

“Thank you,” Kame thanked the other gingerly when Alex handed him a cup of coffee.

The other sat down on a couch opposite him and he could see that Alex was fidgeting nervously.

“I didn’t expect that you would come… anymore.”

Kame placed the cup on the coffee table, “Jin just wouldn’t stop asking and telling me to see you. I am doing this because of him. He really likes you.”

Alex scoffed softly at that.

Feeling a little bit ticked off with the respond he took out the ball in his pocket and placed it back on the table.

“I’m giving this back.”

“You can keep it. I don’t want it anymore.”

“No, I don’t want to keep it,” Kame said stubbornly.

“Well, same as me. It’s yours. If you didn’t want it, just throw it away.”

That angered Kame. Now it was him that was scoffing in disbelief.

“Oh, so that’s it then? Okay. I’ll throw it because now I know that it wasn’t important to you. Just like everything you said to me…”

“Fuck you! You don’t know anything about me!” Alex shouted and Kame blinked in shock at the outburst. He had never seen that expression on the other.

“Don’t you even realize that every time when I see that,” he spat at the ball, “I will remember you and everything that I almost had?”

Kame really didn’t like where this is going. And he does what he did best when he was put into a corner. Just like Jin had said.

“Yeah fucking right, it’s just one…”

Alex was already standing in front of him and held him by his shoulder, shaking him slightly.

“Don’t you dare, say that it was only one week Kame.”

Kame didn’t and after a moment just like how it came, the anger just left as Alex slumped down in front of him.

“It has been the happiest one week that I ever had,” Alex whispered against his lap. Kame didn’t know how to react. He raised his hands to touch the other but then stopped himself.

“Talk to me Alex.”

“What’s there to talk about?”

“Can’t you see Alex? One week is a very short time to fall in love.”

But yet, Kame couldn’t explain it himself why he had been feeling so strongly towards the other.

Alex raised his head to look at him.

“It’s a very long story.”

Kame shrugged, “I could stay to listen to it, if you want me too.”

“I would want you to stay forever,” Alex said earnestly.

“You wouldn’t say that if you really know me.”

Alex shook his head.

“I know how much of a hard headed person you are, how you snapped every time you feel cornered, how you like to ignore things until they just fade away, how you hate, how you love, how the corner of your eyes crinkle when you laugh, how adorably pliant you looked when you wake up in the morning and how much of a vicious brat you could be before having your morning coffee and I want to see that every day.”

Kame could feel his heart throbbed. No one had ever said that to him.

Alex reached up to cup his face and gently said, “I’m going to tell you everything.”
