A/N: A new one from me :) this fic would be a short multichapter fic and is inspired by Fiona Walker's novel 'Snap Happy'. Still in Kame's POV

Kame swung his bat as hard as he can, hitting the ball; imagining himself hitting all his bottled up frustrations up into the sky.

*clang* Makiko and Jin acting all flirty.

*clang* Jin staring at Makiko.

*clang*Jin leaving the apartment with Makiko.

*clang* Hated himself for putting on his hope on Jin.

*clang* Hated Jin for being too beautiful for his own good.

“You seemed angry.”

The voice made him lost his concentration and he missed the ball causing him to spin a little on the mound. He turned to the voice and there was Jin, looking at him in amusement.

“You seemed angry too last night,” Kame replied nonchalantly and started to hit the balls again. He stole a glance at the man that was still standing at the other side of the batting cage.

“Staying out last night?” he asked although he knew that Jin hadn’t been back last night. He hit an incoming ball and it flew high above the cage.

“I was too drunk to drive and I walked home to get some fresh air.”

The balls stopped and Kame took off his cap, walking towards the other then leaned against the cage.

“Is that easy?”

Kame raised his brows questioningly.

“Hitting those balls,” Jin said, interested.

“Easy.”

“Do you mind if I try?”

Kame shrugged. “I don’t mind.”

“Placed your hand here and gripped it tight,” Kame told Jin, placing the other man’s hand on the bat.

“Then widened your stance and squat a little,” he leaned against the other from behind, placing his hand atop Jin’s then swung.

They continued on swinging the bat for a while when Jin cleared his throat. Kame widened his eyes in realization; he had been standing too close for comfort. He immediately backed away, pulling his hands off from the other.

“Sorry.”

“You don’t need to be sorry,” Jin told him in assurance.

Kame smiled awkwardly, looking at the crowd around them. A few people averted their eyes from him and Kame groaned inwardly.

“I’m sorry,” Kame said again whilst Jin swung the bat and missed.

“You don’t have too.”

“But…”

“I really don’t mind Kame.”

Another swing and the ball hit the cage behind them.

“I…”

Jin turned to him, eyes flashed, “I told you that I don’t mind Kame... In fact I kind of like…”

The ball hadn’t hit the cage behind them. The bat fell onto the ground with a loud clang and Kame saw the ball rolled slowly on the ground.

Jin was cradling his right hand against his chest, his face red contorted with pain.

“Fuck,” the other man whimpered and Kame rushed towards the other, pulling him away from the mound.

“I…”

“One more ‘sorry’ and I am going to kick you,” Jin glared.

Kame bit his lower lip trying to stop himself from babbling incoherently. He took Jin’s right hand slowly and grimaced when he felt the other flinched.

“Where does the ball hit you?”

“At my knuckles,” Jin whispered painfully.

Kame touched it lightly and Jin hissed. He glanced to look at the other man and Jin was looking at him with a strange look on his face.

“Don’t tell me that you are going to cry Kame?”

“I know how painful it can be. I’m just feeling it okay?” Kame replied grouchily and Jin grinned, his eyes shone gently.

“It’s not painful at all.”

“Yeah, right,” Kame scoffed, and then tore his gaze away from Jin. “Let’s take you to the clinic before it swells up.”

“I’m really sorry,” Kame bowed his head in 90 degrees when they finally entered their apartment.

“What did I tell you about saying sorry Kame?” Jin asked tetchily and Kame straightened himself.

“But I got your hand in a cast.”

“It’s not your fault. I was the one that got distracted,” Jin huffed, blushing slightly and Kame tried to remember that moment.

Jin had been shouting at him but he had been too distracted by the crowd to pay any attention to it. Did Jin say something?

“I can almost hear the wheels moving in your head,” Jin commented.

“Did you say something to me at that time?”

“What?” Somehow Jin’s blush gotten brighter, “No, I didn’t say anything.”

Kame narrowed his eyes, “You did. But you didn’t want to admit it.”

“I didn’t say anything,” Jin denied hotly and Kame shut his mouth. He had caused the other man’s hand to be in a cast, no need to rile up the man more.

Right now, what he needs to do is to make Jin’s life a little bit easier.

“The doctor said that you can’t get the cast wet. Do you want me to help you taking your shower?” Kame offered earnestly.

“What?” Jin’s eyes widened, “No. You don’t have too. I can manage myself very well.”

Kame watched Jin strode towards his room and shuts the door firmly. He furrowed his brows by the reaction then after a lot of pondering, he gets it. He stared at the door, affronted by what Jin had been thinking.

“If you’re freaking out because you thought that I am going to jump on you, don’t worry I won’t.”

He was about to turn into his own room when Jin’s bedroom door opened. The other man walked towards the bathroom and Kame’s eyes drop to the cast.

“Jin, wait.”

Jin stopped walking and looked at him impatiently. Without a word, Kame walked into the kitchen and took the essentials for covering the cast.

“What are you going to do?” Jin asked looking annoyed.

Wordlessly, he covered the other man’s cast with a plastic bag and tied the open end snugly with a nylon string.

“Now, it won’t be wet when you take a shower,” Kame said to Jin as if talking to a 5 year old.

Jin stared at his plastic covered cast for a while before grunted, “Thanks.”

Kame looked at the other, “I’m not going to do anything to you Jin. I just wanted to help.”

Jin looked at him, again with that strange look. “I know that you won’t.”

“Then…”

“I just don’t want you to. But anyway, thanks for this,” Jin raised his plastic covered cast then walked into the bath room shutting the door right on his face.

Kame really doesn’t know how to read Jin sometimes.

Kame was making breakfast when someone insistently rang the door bell. He rushed towards the door.

“Jin!” The man at the other side of the door called out loudly but then realizing that it wasn’t Jin in front of him, he smiled sheepishly, “Um… Hi…”

It was one of Jin’s friends.

“Is Jin home?”

“He’s in the shower. Come in,” he told the other, and added, “I’m just making breakfast. You can have some if you want to.”

“Sweet.”

“What are you doing here?” Jin was already out of the bathroom, standing at the middle of the living room looking at his friend in surprise.

“Don’t tell me you had forgotten all abou…” the other man trailed off, then his brows rose questioningly, “What the fuck happened to your hand?”

“Accident,” Jin replied with a shrug.

The tall man moaned unhappily, “Do you think you can play your guitar with that hand?”

Jin made a thoughtful expression, “Well, I think I can move my fingers like… OF COURSE I CAN’T DUMBASS!”

“You have absolutely forgotten all about it don’t you?”

Kame only stared at both men not knowing what actually had happened. Then he looked at Jin. The other man was furrowing his brows when suddenly they shoot up in realization.

“Fuck… we had a gig tonight.”

Kame stared at Jin’s cast hand, then at Jin, then at Jin’s friend. This is a big problem.

“Do you want to pack anything more?” Kame asked, stuffing a t-shirt into Jin’s duffel bag.

The tall man named Yuu had left, telling Jin to be ready before 3 in the afternoon.

To Jin’s dismay, Kame had happily offered himself to drive the other to the venue and telling Yuu in assurance that he will make sure that Jin will be arriving at the venue in time and safe.

“How could I forget about it?”

Jin had been pacing in his room for 15 minutes already.

“I’m going to ruin everything.”

Kame had just known from Jin and his friend’s conversation that tonight’s gig is very important to them. Someone from a major recording company will be there to see them.

Tonight’s gig will be their big break.

“You’re not going to ruin everything.”

Jin stopped pacing, looking at him. “You don’t understand Kame. Me, being not able to play the guitar meant that we will have to change our song list. We don’t have time to find someone that can play the guitar this soon.”

The other man continued to pace again.

“What about Ryo?”

He could almost see Jin bristled by the mention of Ryo’s name.

“What about him?”

“He could play the guitar well. You should know about it. He is your friend.”

“I know about it,” Jin said tetchily and Kame frowned. He now noticed that Jin would act very irritated when Ryo’s name is mentioned.

But he will ask about that later. They have bigger problem to solve now.

“So, do you want me to call Ryo?” Kame offered.

“You don’t have to. I’ll call him myself.”

Kame glanced at the other man covertly as he drove along the busy street. Jin was drumming his good fingers on the dashboard, looking all fidgety and nervous.

Before, Jin had somehow looked relief when he told Kame that Ryo couldn’t make it. And he had wanted to ask at that moment then, what is it about Ryo that annoys Jin but he realized that Jin had a lot of other things to think about.

He made a note to himself to ask about it later tonight.

“It’s going to be fine.”

“I really hope so,” Jin replied tersely.

Kame cleared his throat and tried to find something to talk about to reduce the stress.

“Do you know that Yokohama is a very good dating spot?”

“Huh?”

Kame turned to look at Jin briefly. “Yokohama. A very good dating spot.”

“Why are you talking about this?”

From Jin’s tone, he knew that the other man had started to get annoyed.

“I’m just trying to make a light conversation,” Kame admitted truthfully.

Jin didn’t reply and he had thought that the other man had decided to ignore him until he heard Jin asked, “How did you know that Yokohama is a good dating spot?”

“Because it has a very romantic atmosphere,” Kame replied earnestly.

“Have you gone there for a date?”

“I still don’t have the chance. Well, actually, none of my exes wanted to go there for a date,” Kame made a face, remembering those times.

“Kame…”

“Oh, it’s here isn’t it? Where do you want me to drop you?”

Jin cleared his throat, “At the back.”

Kame drove towards the back and stopped exactly at the back entrance. He watched Jin got out from the car and was about to drive away when Jin called him.

He rolled the window down and the other man leaned against it, a hopeful expression on his face.

“If you don’t have anything to do tonight, you should come and watch us. I really want you to.”

Kame could feel his heart surged with happiness and couldn’t stop himself from smiling wide.

“Okay.”

Jin smiled too and he had looked like he wanted to say something when Yuu interrupted them. He could see Jin scowled by the interruption.

“Got to go,” he gestured with his head at Yuu that was now standing behind the other man at the entrance looking impatient, “I’ll wait for you then.”

“Okay.”

Jin turned towards his friend, and he couldn’t hear clearly what they were talking about but Jin is definitely annoyed.

Kame watched till the other man entered the building, the big smile still intact on his face. He sighed dreamily.

Kame knew at that moment that he is hopelessly in love with Jin.
