je_prompts Jin glanced at his right side warily and then turned towards Ryo that was sitting on his left side.
“Somehow… every time I looked at him when he's eating, I don’t think he’s a poor homeless person…” Jin whispered softly, once in a while glancing at their new household member.
Ryo take a covert glance at the said boy, then back to his friend. “Well, you’re the one who picked him up.”
“I know… but I don’t think homeless people had better etiquettes of eating compared to us!”
Another covert glance and he knew that Jin was right about that. Kazuya looked too much like a proper young master than a homeless beggar that sleeps at their dumpster just because it looks comfortable.
Ryo clears his throat and that attracts the boy’s attention. Kazuya looked at him expectantly and somehow, he could feel himself blush by the other’s gaze. He cleared his throat again.
“You talk to him Jin.”
“Eh?”
Huffing softly, Jin turned towards Kazuya. “Uh…” Jin faltered not knowing how to ask.
“Yes?”
“Uh… how did you learn to eat like that?” Jin asked, a triumph smile on his face and Ryo couldn’t help to roll his eyes.
The boy looked at himself and grinned, “Ueda-san taught me how.”
Jin looked at the boy quizzically. “Who’s Ueda-san?”
“He’s my tu- my cousin!”
Jin nodded his head slowly and Ryo, without looking up from his food says, “So why didn’t you live with your cousin rather than with us?”
“Ryo!” Jin nudged him at the ribs and he winced by it.
“What?” He asked tetchily and Jin gestured with his head towards the other.
Kazuya was looking down to his lap, and Ryo swore that if they are in a 2D comic book right now, there is definitely a depressed gloom behind the now small hunched figure. It made him feel… guilty…
“Uh...” Ryo started while Jin was giving him the accusing glare.
“Look… Kazuy-…” and before Ryo could even finished his sentence, the boy abruptly stands up and ran towards the closest room, closing the door with a loud bang.
Jin’s accusing glare increased by a level. “You shouldn’t have said that, what if that cousin of his has passed away?”
Ryo was definitely feeling guilty, but he refused to show it in front of his friend. It has been very much an embarrassment when he had passed out in front of them and now, Jin wanted him to apologize for what he had said. He couldn’t deny that the way he had asked the question is kind of rude and maybe what Jin had said about the cousin was right… but…
“Well, how should I know?” Ryo counters back.
“Well, you should have thought first before speaking!”
“Why would I change the way I…”
The door creaked open and both of them immediately stopped, turning towards the said boy that was standing in front of door looking very much confused.
“Am I interrupting something?”
Jin blinked. “Uh… how are you feeling?”
Kazuya tilted his head in confusion before flashing them a wide grin. “I’m good! Just a bit of a stomach ache,” Kazuya smiled shyly rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.
Cute…
Jin gave out a soft squeal, and Ryo bit his lip trying to stop himself from emitting the some sound. He glanced at the door where Kazuya had stood; Ryo gave out a low groan. The bathroom…
Great… so much of feeling guilty… feeling irritated, he gave a Jin a kick.
“Hey… what’s that about?” Jin glared and he shrugged.
“Just feel like it.”
Jin clicked his tongue, and averted his attention back towards the younger boy at the other end of the table.
“Hey, Kazu-chan. Let’s go out and buy some clothes for you okay?”
Ryo looked at Jin in surprise. “You’re buying him clothes?” he asked in a whisper.
Jin looked at him strangely. “Well duh… how would Kazu-chan had any spare clothes? And he’s been wearing mine for the past week. He needs his own clothes.”
Having no reply to that, he shrugged. “Well, suit yourself. He’s your pet anyway.”
He had expected that Jin would shrug it off too and continued to talk to Kazuya about their shopping plan but instead, he felt a piercing gaze on him.
“What?”
“Ryo-chan… are you jealous?”
“Of what?”
Jin smiled mischievously. “You wanted to be nice to him too don’t you?”
That hit the mark in a perfect ten. But he just gave Jin a bored look and replied a monotonous “No”.
“Oh well… suits yourself,” Jin used back his words and he bit back the urge to smack his friend upside the head.
……………………………………………………………
“What the hell happened to you?” Ryo stared at the sight in front of him in shock. Jin was wearing a new set of clothes, expensive and flashy looking designer clothes.
“Kazu-chan told me to buy them…” Jin replied softly while the said boy that was standing beside the other was grinning from ear to ear.
“Jin-chan looks good, isn’t he?”
Ryo couldn’t stop himself from grinning too. “And I thought that it was supposed to be Jin buying you clothes, not Jin buying his own clothes.”
Kazuya shook his head. “Jin bought me some clothes too!”
And looking very much excited, Kazuya rummaged into his shopping bag and pulled out a… Ryo stared at the… he narrowed his eyes.
Furry… and is that a pair of… rabbit’s ears?
“He chose it himself, and I did buy him some normal clothes…” Jin quickly added the info before Ryo could ever accuse him about having a costume fetish.
Kazuya nodded his head, a proud smile adorning his face. “I think I’m going to try it!”
And before both of them could reply, Kazuya made a quick dash into the bathroom and after a few minutes, the said boy was already in front of them twirling and posing around in his new… um… clothes.
“Sometimes I really wonder where he comes from.” Ryo stated, his eyes on the little tuft that supposed to be a rabbit’s tail then to Kazuya’s face.
Kazuya was smiling at him earnestly whilst his mouth is itching to give out a comment… and he always had been rude when he commented on anything. So, he bit his lower lip, trying to stop himself. Kazuya and his rabbit costume had looked very much ridiculous but Ryo couldn’t stop the smile from forming on his face. It’s quite cute actually, in a ridiculous-hilarious way.
It’s not that Kazuya had softened a certain spot in him; he just didn’t want Jin to go berserk because he had trampled down on Kazuya’s supposed happiness. And he hated it when people nagged. Ryo nodded his head agreeing to his own reasons.
“That’s right,” he murmured to himself and turned to look at the ‘rabbit’ in front of him.
Their new addition in the household is definitely out of the ordinary… he glanced at his actual house mate clad in flashy attire that reminded him of a host, was already busy snapping pictures of posing Kazuya in the furry rabbit costume and shrugged.
Well… if only Jin could be classified as ordinary…
