Who: Sora and Riku
Where: The Pond then their apartment
When: After Sora's visit to his doctor. Yeah... ummm been meaning to post this...
Summary: Sora had been depressed after a suggestion from the Hatori so he went to the pond to think... Thus the rest of this mess.
Rating: PG for a bit of blood.
Other:

Sora should have gone to school, rode along and joined his friends in class. But he couldn't, not with the 'suggestion' from Dr. Hatori still ringing in his ears. Live his life avoiding everyone? How could he? Different sights, sounds, flavors, smells, set him off. What was he to do? Live inside a glass bubble away from the world? Despondent he rode off to a pond near where he lived.
It was a good romantic location for many people, and for that there was always a boat tied to the dock if someone was in the mood for a romantic trip across the lake. Which was where Sora ended up, not looking for romance, rather looking for the comfort of a vast body of water.
When he finally rode up to the pond he locked up his bike at the usual spot before walking to the dock. Jumping onto one of the thick sturdy beams that held up the dock.

Riku had the day off from his job and decided it was time to re-discover the town. He had spent most of the day just walking around places he used to frequent as a kid and seeing all the changes that had been made. He had been surprised to see Sora's note that morning but took it as a good sign all the same.
He arrived at the pond and decided it would be a good place to rest and he took a seat a little ways away from the dock. The water looked calm and almost soothing. He used to like watching the water as a kid. He used to do it for hours at a time. The water made him feel......nostalgic. But also a bit sad. Like he lost something he couldn't get back.
He felt the opposite when he was with Sora though. A part of him felt whole again. As his eyes scanned the coast of the pond, he eyes met the dock and he immediately recognized Sora's figure. Slowly he stood up and began to make his way towards the dock, hoping to surprise Sora.

Sora jumped from one beam to another, his balance occasionally tilted as though he was about to lose his balance. Because he was, before he righted himself and managed to stand up right. His arms were sticking out before he settled back into balance. Then he would jump again.
Locked up? Away from everyone? Never see the sky again, or live a life so dependent on drugs that he never noticed the world around him again? 'Why can't I get better?' he wondered as he jumped again. 'Why do I have to be so sick?'

He reached the dock and snuck up near where Sora was jumping. Riku paused in concern for his safety and decided to make his presence known in a more low-key way. "Hey. Sora!"

Sora turned in surprise, a very bad move considering where he was standing at the moment. His foot slipped in his surprise and he fell, his head cracking against the tip of the boat. Knocking Sora clean out as he sank into the water only to float up just as fast. His last thought being 'Oh Hey Riku!'

He felt his blood run cold as he ceased to breathe. He felt like he was frozen in place for hours. When he was finally able to snap back to reality he run towards the edge of the dock and jumped in after Sora. 'Be okay Sora, please!' Was his only thought. When he reached Sora's body he grasped him under his arms and turned so he was swimming on his side.
Once he reached the land he shoved Sora's body out of the water and then pulled himself out to. He looked at Sora, hoping to find some sort of sign to prove he was alive.

His head had cracked open just a bit, a small bit of blood was trickling down. But Sora wasn't breathing, stupid water.

Snapping to action, Riku collected himself enough to remember what he needed to do. The procedure of CPR raced through his mind and it was the only thing he could focus on. He pushed all other thoughts away. Pump 1, 2 Breathe in Pump 1, 2 and so on. He felt a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach but pushed it aside. This wasn't the time for confusing thoughts.

Sora jerked a little before he began coughing what water had seeped into his lungs. Not as bad as it could have been, but Sora wasn't fully awake. Groggy like crazy he tried to roll himself onto his side while coughing. Curling up like a wounded animal.

Riku watched with a mixture on concern and relief. He patted Sora's back in hopes it would help him cough up the rest of the water. His mind went still and he just rubbed Sora's back self conscientiously. He felt tired in that moment, so very tired. The ordeal took years off his life.

He felt safe where he was, cold as hell though he was. He turned around in confusion, sluggishly reaching out for the taller teen. "Ne... kooo?" he choked out his voice a raspy tone. He couldn't even properly pronounce Riku's name. Yet instinctively seemed to know it was him.

He was dragged out of his daze when he heard Sora's attempt at his name. He quickly looked down and felt a small grin pull at the corners of his mouth. "You okay Sora?"

"Ne.. koo..." He crawled, looking more like a landed fish as he tried to crawl into Riku's lap. "head..." he whimpered as he tried to touch where it hurt. Only to wince in pain.

He watched, a bit amused by Sora's antics, until he watched Sora touch his head. Leaning over a bit to get a good look he gasped. It was then that he noticed the blood. "Oh....no." He carefully scooped Sora up. He needed to see a doctor. "Sora, focus. Did you bring your bike here?" It probably wasn't the safest thing to transport them, but it was the quickest.

"Ummmhummm..." he drawled out the affirming sound before giving a soft. "Go home? We go home?" He asked resting his head against Riku's shoulder. The teen was so... incredibly strong... either that or Sora weighed about the same as a log.

He spotted Sora's bike up ahead and sat Sora down on it before getting on himself. He wrapped Sora's arms around his waist. "Hold on tight okay?" As he began to ride away from the dock, he glanced back at Sora to check on him. "You need to have your head check first, then we can go home."

Sora roused a bit before moaning softly. "No... No doctors... I'll be fine..." Too soon, he had felt so safe and warm in Riku's arms, and now he was being forced out of that warmth. Right into a scary thought. He didn't want to go back to the doctors or hospitals. "No doctors."

Riku repressed a sigh. "You need to get your wound cleaned. Or do you want it to become infected?"

"Take me away." He murmured into Riku's back. "Lock me up... dun wanna go." He replied as his hands slipped from around his chest to more his lower chest.

His breathe caught in his throat and he felt his heart tense up at those words. "S-sora? Come on....don't talk crazy on me...." His voice was uneasy but he tried to sound strong. He felt Sora's hands change position and focused his attention to that, trying to determine if Sora was loosing his grip or not.

"Take me way... lone, oom..." His voice got softer as his hands dropped onto Riku's thighs. Riku was so warm, he smelled of something that Sora couldn't place. His strength reminded him of something too. But Riku was always brave wasn't he? He just looked the part.

He didn't know what was going on. Sora wasn't making any sense. Where did he want to go? He felt Sora's grip slid down even more and gulped. It would too dangerous to use one of his hands to adjust Sora's grasp while they were moving. He debated stopping but decided against it, thinking he would just pay close attention.

He was out cold by then, what little strength he had was gone and he had slumped fully back into that weightless dream world where nothing hurt. In his sleep he managed to lean against Riku for a while before he slowly began to tilt dangerously off center.

He felt Sora slipping and automatically stopped the bike. He grasped both of Sora's arms to pull him upright and twisted so he could put his own arm around Sora's shoulders. "Sora? Sora wake up!"

He mumbled and roused a bit clinging to Riku again on in pain. "nekuuu...?" He murmured.

He shook Sora lightly to try and help him keep awake. "You need to stay awake okay? You hit your head pretty hard and I don't need you having a concussion on me okay?"

"O... k Neku..." he replied sleepily nuzzling the taller boy's back. "Home?" He asked wanting yet again to go home. Once he figured out where that was.

This time he didn't even try to suppress his sigh. "Fine, you win for now! But we are going to stop by a store to pick up some bandages and ointment. You got that?" Twisting back to his normal position he began to pedal again.

"Home... Neku home..." he murmured sounding pained but happy.

On the way back to their apartment Riku stopped and bought the gauze and antibiotics and such to treat Sora's wounds. Taking the elevator to their room he carried Sora over his shoulder and parked the bike in the hallway by Sora's bedroom. When he finished that he set Sora down on the couch and rested the boy's head in his lap.

He riffled through the bag and begain to clean and dress Sora's head wound. "Keep still, okay?"

"Home?" he asked as he relaxed, oh how that felt GOOD after being contorted so many ways since he fell!

Riku rolled his eyes. "What you're so out of it you don't recognize your own place?" He set about wrapping the gauze around Sora's head and silently thanked his mom for teaching him decent first-aid.

"Heh... beach..." He murmured before trying to roll over again. But then again doing that would risk him losing his place near Riku and he didn't want that. So he forced himself to a more comfortable position as one could get half out of it.

When he finished wrapping up the other boy's head he swatted it lightly. "You're rambling you dope." He shifted his own position slightly to so he could straighten out his leg that was near the edge of the couch.

He frowned, then pouted before looking up at Riku with one bleary eye. "Am not."

"Oh yes you are." He said as he reached for the TV remote. "What do you want to watch?" He wasn't sure Sora could stay conscience for long but it was worth a try anyways.

"Bleh... Nothing but soaps at this hour..." He murmured before rolling over and facing Riku's lap, right before the pain in his head made him shift again.

He flipped through the channels even though he knew Sora was right. But it gave him something to focus on other then all the other things that plagued his mind in the last hour. "Stop moving around, you'll agitate your wound."

He murmured something under his breath before settling down and watching the TV pointless though it was. "I.. Saw the doctor today." Wheee apparently he was going coherent!

He turned his attention towards Sora, glad that he was starting to become understandable again. "What did the doctor have to say?"

He gripped Riku's knee on instinct as he fought the tears. "... Don't know what's causing it... So many things trigger it that ... well.." He gave a weak shrug. "He suggested going into isolation."

Riku frowned in concern and grasped the hand that gripped his knee. He didn't know what to say. He had never been very good at comforting anyone. He decided to to gently stroke Sora's hair, making sure to not brush against his wound. After a moment he finally replied. "What have you decided?"

"I would rather die first... Then lose my friends... to lose this life. I don't mind the pain, or the struggle, but to just live out my life in a room is something I don't want... So I don't want to go back to the hospital unless it's absolutely necessary." He explained quietly, though firmly.

He understood where the boy was coming from. Heck he'd feel the same way if he was in the same situation. But the facts were that he apparently needs all the help he can get for this...problem that he has. Riku decided it was best he kept these thoughts to himself. "Well, I hate to break this to you but part of your head is cut open.

And I don't know about you but I find that to be a necessary reason to go."

He shook his hand in a lazy manner before getting comfy on Riku's lap. "It's ok, I've had my head cracked open like this worse before when I was a kid." He pointed out before shrugging slightly. "I'll live." He looked from the corner of his eye a smile on his lips. "Thanks for saving me Riku."

He had to refrain from wincing at Sora's comment about his head. He knew only too well..... He mustered up a small grin in response to Sora and shrugged his shoulders. "It's not like I could just let my roommate drown. All the apartment's bills would kill my budget."

"Yeah, they were killing me too. I was working for a lot longer then I should have just to pay them. My parents spare what they can to help, but between the hospital and the apartment." He sighed and shrugged before turning to face Riku. "It's more then I can bear to put them through. Which is why I hate visiting the hospital at all. It only makes me get a smaller paycheck."

Riku nodded in understanding. Finally getting tired of flipping through the channels on the TV he left it on some random gameshow and threw the remote down onto the coffee table. "I could always borrow from my parents whenever money get's tight around here. They have plenty of money to burn so it would be alright."

"I'm sorry that I kinda ruined today. I'm sure there was more fun things you could do today then have to look after me." He looked a bit sheepish if not a bit painful from the move. "I'll make it up to you!"

He stared down at Sora, amusement clearly written on his face. "And how are you going to do that?"

"Well we could have a small party? Or well what do you like to do?" He asked looking up and trying to sit up, only to slump back his face twisted with pain.

Riku shook his head in a weary fashion. "Why would we have a party? Are we going to celebrate a nice day-off spoiled by my roommate who fell into a pond? Besides I'm not upset. I didn't have much planned for the day anyways."

Sora frowned disappointed at his clumsy self, he sighed and tried to think. "I'm sorry... I ruined your day off..." He looked away in shame. "I'll find a way to make it up to you."

He lightly smacked the unwounded part of Sora's head. "Listen to my words Sora because I'll only repeat this once more. I. Am. Not. Angry. Really, I wasn't going to do anything important today."

He whimpered at the physical scolding, "even if you were off today, It was a day off! Time to relax or goof off." He pouted before trying to smack Riku back in retailation. "And don't hit me!" He pouted.

He grabbed Sora's wrist before he could hit him back. "Oi! I'm lending you my lap here. I could always just stand up if you don't stop moving around. And I only hit you when you deserve it."

Sora weighed the options, then swallowed his pride so he could have the warm lap. He laid back down his eyes closing briefly before sighing. "I'm bored."

Riku settled back down and rested his head on his arm which he had on the armrest. "You're telling me. Do you have any movies around here?"

"Yeah, hmmm some monster flicks, zombie flicks, umm."

He muttered really fast and under his breath, "A small romance slash action flick."
Then resuming his normal tone of voice, "And a couple of adventure movies."

He almost did a double take, not scratch that he did double take. "Wait, what was the third one?" He couldn't have possibly heard that right.

"Hmm?" He asked blinking big blue innocent eyes, as though RIku wouldn't enforce a repeat.

He frown and narrowed his eyes. He attempted to look Sora straight in the eye. "You know what I asked."

"Aromanceslashactionmovie." he said in one breath and reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyy quietly because Riku was so awesome looking and... Yeah he was awesome looking... Maybe it was from downing three of those stupid pills from before. But now that Sora thought on it... Riku 'did' look familiar....

He stared......and stared. No words would make this moment any less awkward. "Um.......right.......how about a horror flick?"

He gave a soft sound before rolling off of Riku's lap to get said movie. He staggered on his hands and knees as he crawled to where he kept them. Pulling out one he put it in to play. Then crawled out of the way so he could have a mild fit.

As Riku watched the previews began he couldn't help but glace over to Sora every once in awhile. Something seemed wrong, he kept twitching. "Hey, are you okay?"

He nodded slowly his eyes closed as he tried to push himself back to his knees. "Just.. had a sense of deja vu..." Of falling away from Riku? What was this feeling? He poked around his pants before pulling out his pill bottle and popping a pill.

Well, obviously something was wrong if Sora had to bring out his pills. "Are you sure you're felling okay? Are you having a fit?"

"Yes, I'm ok." he replied as he knelt there before crawling back to Riku like a puppy. Minus tail. "I... just needed... ah... yes... just a small fit." he finally admitted unable to lie to Riku. Since well, Riku already 'knew'.

He sighed and watched Sora as he crawled back, trying to look for any signs of a fit taking over. "Do you know what triggered it?"

He whimpered and crawled back onto the couch, his body shivering. He had an idea, but he dared not go any further. Not unless he wanted to be readmitted back into the hospital which he didn't.

"Hey Sora, answer me." His voice was filled with concern but he knew that if pushed Sora it would probably end it disaster. But still, he wanted to know what was happening. In case he could help.

"It's you." He whispered finally. "I remember you... somehow..." He murmured which was vaguely true, he sorta remembered Riku's name, and those aquamarine colored eyes and silver hair.

He felt his breathing slow. He hadn't wanted this to happen. At least not this soon. He wasn't sure what he was most afriad of; Sora being angry at him for keeping it a secret or Sora hating him because of the accident. "Wwhat are you talking about...?"

"Dark skies... and fear... fear that you'll go away again..." He murmured as tears fell from his face. Unknowingly confusing his false memory of the accident with his true memory of when Riku regained his true form.

He didn't know what to say, so he remained silent. Hoping that it would be enough. It pained him to see Sora like this. He silently stuck out an arm and wrapped it around Sora's shoulders in a half embrace.

He leaned into it before settling down into his previous spot. "I'll be ok... I'll... just let the meds do their stuff..." He whispered. "There... there's popcorn in the kitchen, and a pot you can use to make some with..." He offered wanting to give Riku a distraction from the fit.

He nodded in reply but remained silent. He took Sora's offer of a distraction for what it was and made his way to the kitchen. He found the packet and prepared it and waited for it to finish its cycle in the microwave. He spent all this time trying to think of anything but what just happened. he returned and set back down on the couch with the popcorn bowl in between them.

A zombie flick was playing, Sora had already watched it several times. But he forced himself to watch it like he never saw it before, hoping to drown out the pain he was in. He quietly moved when the bowl was brought and though it hurt his head, he began eating some of it.

He wasn't even paying attention to the movie. As hard as he tried to concentrate he just couldn't turn his brain off. Or keep it from wondering things he's better off not wondering about.

"You know the heart meds have a slight touch of pain killer in them. Helps in times like this." he pointed out randomly and started at a Zombie jumping out of nowhere.

Riku snapped back to reality at the sound of Sora's voice. "Uh..what? Sorry, I was zoning out."

"The meds I take... they have a small pain killer effect in them." He elaborated before pointing to his head. "Maybe if I take another the headache will go?"

"Is that safe? I mean you don't want to overdose." He absentmindedly grabbed for some popcorn just to give himself something to do.

"True..." He looked down before grabbing a handful himself. "We could have a slumber party!" He suddenly had a light bulb switch on in his head apparently. He brightened and carried on. "We can eat junk food and watch movies and play games!" Yep Sora was still trying to distract himself...

By this time Riku had to really wonder if this was the drugs talking or if Sora's thought process really jumped around like this on a normal bases. He raised his eyebrows slightly. "A....slumber party?"

Blink... "I said that outloud didn't I?" he asked before falling over moaning about being an idiot.

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Yes, Sora. You said it out loud. And might I add you sounded quite excited to."

>////< Sora was blushing so hard he shoved his face into the back of the couch and whimpered. He refused to let go even as the increase in blood in his head inspired his head to start bleeding again.

Riku noticed the blood coming through the bandages. "Whoa! Sora, your head is starting to bleed again. Calm down for a bit okay?" Then, just to be sure, he played his trump card. "I'll have to take you to the doctor if you don't."

A whimper came from the cusion before he tried to calm down. Not an easy task when one was burning with embarrassment. "I'm sorry." He replied before laying down again. He laid there still this time, not moving and with his eyes closed. His stomach was not happy with him for eating apparently.

He shook his head at Sora's antics. "I didn't say you had to lay like a statue. I just wanted you to stop bouncing around. You don't need to be embarrested. I was only teasing you."

"I... feel sick... I don't think I should have eaten..." he whispered softly.

Riku sat up quickly and looked closely at Sora, trying to determine his condition. "Do you need help to the bathroom or something? Do you need to puke?" He didn't even realize that his throat had grown tight again.

"Just.. I think if I just stay still for a bit it should be ok." He murmured and swallowed painfully before trying not to move.

He nodded and settled back down in his spot on the couch. "Okay. If you're sure. Just tell me when you need something okay?" He returned his attention back to the movie that was still playing, but he glanced to Sora every few minutes to make sure he was doing okay.

Sora laid still trying to subdue the pain he felt and that gross taste in the back of his throat. Maybe he needed to take a first aid course next chance he got?

sora, riku
