The instant that the man began moving the device (Vehicle? Could it possibly be somewhere in that class, and she was simply unaware of it at that time?) Nill moved away slightly from the edge, almost as though she were afraid she might fall off; or, perhaps, that it was suddenly start flying up into the air, and she’d simply be stuck atop it. A silly response, all things considered, but there were certainly worse. After the first few moments of gliding along like that, she gradually began to unwrap the lollipop that had been given to her, looking at the obvious bright red color of the sugary treat once done before popping it into her mouth, still holding on to the little plastic stick with the middle, pointer finger, and thumb of her right hand, the wrapper now held in her left.
It wasn’t so hard to tell that he wasn’t actually talking to her when he spoke of finding her something else to wear-really, he’d been talking to himself mostly since he popped up, why would that change?-but the child looked down at her own, tattered and faded little dress regardless, as though trying to inspect it for something wrong. After all, it was all she really owned, and she herself could see nothing wrong with it; though even she had to admit, it could probably use a wash. And besides, weren’t clothes somewhat expensive? Looking back up at the man with the single swirl in his hair, Nill tilted her head slightly to the side, taking the lollipop out of her mouth; apparently trying to convey something along the lines of ‘you don’t need to do that’ with her expression alone. Not like she could really do it any other way.
