“Nah you didn’t know any better-“ a palm lifted to wave off the prospect of Nataku apologizing for what had happened, “Ich feel bad Ich wasn’t zhare to give you guidance!” Cause apparently Nataku was his charge. Or so dubbed in this moment- the poor weirdo couldn’t seem to get along fine in the real world outside walls for very long and Schrödinger had a mind to help this buddy of his. After all- it was pretty fun~ and anything to kill his natural enemy known as boredom would be enough to keep the black feline eared Nazi interested.

Schrödinger stood, tipping his head gently to the side as he watched the tall man with a child disposition grip his own chest when he asked that question. Those vibrant crimson eyes dulled as eyelids gently closed partially half way, “Eh-…could alvays be better…it was utterly boring since you left! The circus vasn’t that vun vithout you….und then Ich saw some copper show up and start asking questions to the Hatter so vell…Here Ich am!- huhu talk about climbing za ladder Natamousy! You vhent from Abyss- to Terra to Elysia in a matter of a week!” He walked-spying around the nice expensive room before he kicked off those boots of his only to suddenly spring onto the other’s bed without asking- displacing blankets underneath the black knee high socked feet-he jumped childishly against the mattress as naughty children often do, Once that got boring-he dropped abruptly to land on his rump against the now mess of blankets. Blonde tresses displaced all over that head as black ears perked up and red eyes sliced over to his friend, “So do zay feed you good things here?”.

"That would have been nice." It meant that he would not have had to say something that would keep him from his best friend for so long. When the questions would have been difficult, Nataku could have gestured for the teen to answer rather than say something that would land them both in trouble. Still, he did not mind the time that he spent in the office. Vargret seemed like a nice person under the guise of grumpy. But his understanding of other people was limited and biased.

"The person with the hat did not give you dresses?" Nataku wondered if the circus would have been better if Schrodinger was allowed to wear such things as well. In polite society, it seemed those that were designated as male were not supposed to wear skirts -- at least, that is what his grandfather had taught him. "A copper?" His expression darkened some as he wondered if he had said something that got Hatter in trouble; after all the help that she had given him. Nataku did not mind that his bed was being messed up as he spent his time thinking. He could easily make it up once again and so there was no foul in it. Taking his seat on the floor rather than finding a chair, he looked up at Schrodinger and finally let go of the grip he had on his chest. It seemed like the other had been having a lot of fun and there was no real worry; just as Schrodinger had said.

"It does seem like I have been to all the levels. I believe it is good that I am getting out more." While he used to wander the streets, it was mostly in Elysium rather than traveling to the other levels. "Yes. They do. It is very nice here. After a few days, you would like to stay here forever. Even if forever is an impossibility for me." A statement, because he felt that Schrodinger would feel quite at home in this place if he met and spoke with Johan just once. Perhaps, it would be nice if he belonged somewhere as he remembered that his best friend said that he did not belong to anyone. They had such a conversation before and Nataku did not like the idea of his friend sleeping in warehouses where the cat would worry about his enemies: boredom and rape.

“Pffft Ich vouldn’t vear a dress if she offered! I’m a boy! Ich don’t vear dresses-Ich do have zome dignity!” He huffed puffing up his lungs as he sat on the bed and the owner of said bed took a seat against the floor. Lightly one black socked leg wagged forward and back off the edge as those reflective eyes wove around the room again. “Hmm hmm~♪ So you get to walk around in this place all you want?” He didn’t seem to run out of questions, eyes glancing to the door as gloved fingertips idly picked at the slim black belt that crossed over his uniformed chest.

“Huu….ya know Nata-mousy things haft gotten very slow-‘zat funny man is so quiet now-‘und Auntie got put in jail Ich think-Ich don’t know if I’ll try und get her out…kinda hard to do by myself….huu…” the faux child allowed his body to tip over and collapse on his side against the softness of the bed, black feline ears flattening.

“….Eh stay forever?” A pointy elbow lifted and jabbed against the mattress as his hand cupped his chin in a lazy demeanor gazing at his friend, “Ich dunno…any place can get boring after a while-unless things are alvays changing…Besides vhat happens vhen zis Senator is no longer in office? Like if he doesn’t get reelected or - or dies or something? Can’t stay forever then….ppfft why am Ich talking about stuff like this anyvay~ so boooring~” That elbow gave way and the back of that blonde little head plopped down to rest on wrinkled blankets, gloved hands stretching up above him. “Oi-nata-mousy Ich vill come visit you here for how ever long you are here- maybe we can play games or something! Hide and seek is fun~ Und in a big place like this would be better!".

"I suppose that you do need some dignity if you are a boy." He did not mean that as a slight but agreeing with Schrodinger said. Playing with his own hair, he tried to fix it in a semblance that did not look like he had just woken up even though that was what had happened. It seemed rude to be so unruly in front of his best friend. "Yes. I can. And that is thanks to you. You were the one that spoke to Johan, after all. I thank you for speaking to him on my behalf."

"The funny man." Once more, he parroted what the other said as he tried to remember who was being spoken about. He looked side-to-side before finally remembering who that was. The one that is considered a 'bad guy' in Elysium and Terra. "Oh, that man. I am uncertain I am upset about that. He was someone that had you used as a distraction before."

"Auntie, who is Auntie? I did not know that you had any relatives." Still, if Schrodinger was upset about something like that, Nataku wondered if there was anything that he could do. His best friend had done something kind for him. It seemed like it was natural that he should do something in return. "Is there anything that I can do to assist you?"

"Correct." He looked up at the boy from the floor, not overall bothered by doing so. However, he did reach out to right the boots on the floor as he felt that that needed to be done. Perhaps, something to do. Or perhaps, he felt things should have some order when in this estate. He could not say. "That would be fun. There is so many places that one could hide here. I wonder if I should ask Johan if that is acceptable for us to do so. This is not my house, after all. I would not want you to be in trouble for visiting."

“Ich vasn’t speaking on your behalf~ Ich was speaking on myyyy! Behalf” he corrected, gloved paws still up in the shaded air. Lucky for the little nazi he didn’t need light in order to see clear, his form twisted rolling over to lay on his stomach as he seemed not able to sit still for very long, once again elbows pressed to the bed-but this time palms cupped each side of his face as he gazed to his odd strange but rather interesting best friend. “Cause-oft course Ich vould help mien friend…”.

One brow gently rose as the Germanic boy pursed his lips, “Enh? He didn’t use me as a distraction…Well he didn’t ask me to be one Ich volunteered…it vas zomezink to do…”.

“Ich don’t have any relatives, Schrödinger ist alone-She ist just zomevon ich call Auntie- cause she’s very sweet-und she worried about me und calls me kitten- Haha~” Really the feline-esque boy didn’t expect anything in return for having some how helped Nataku out of a cramped office and into more lavish accommodations. After all Schrödinger didn’t really want anything besides being entertained by chaos around him. He was a Cheshire Cat so to speak and he would simply watch the many Alices of this world die off around him as time went on.

Really he knew his time with Nataku wouldn’t be forever- sooner or later he too would more than likely join the dust that lined the streets of Abyss- and once again Schrödinger would be on his own without a best friend or simply a ‘friend’ to call his own. It would be the way of his unending life.

“Trouble? Me? Ich never get in trouble und even if Ich get caught~ it’s never for long-how many times have Ich told you zat now Nata-mousy~?” He scolded verbally however it wasn’t a real scolding he was only teasing, lifting away one hand to wag a clothed finger pad at the other’s face he could almost reach from his perch on the bed.

"Understood." If he felt slighted that it was not for his behalf, he certainly did not feel it. "That is simply how things are, are they not? Friends are supposed to help one another."

His hands set down on his knees as be pushed himself up to a standing position. The thought occurred to him that since he had a guest, he should try to get dressed. But he was also aware that that would not be particularly polite to Schrödinger if he changed his clothes in front of him. His head tilted to the side as he faltered between both thoughts before deciding that it would be best to just return to where he was seated. (A moment of wondering if the oven was on before realizing that he was a squirrel and did not need to worry about such.)

He smiled easily which he found he did more often around his best friend than others. But he considered that to be normal. It was a natural reaction, after all. Still, this made him remind himself that he did not want emotions and displaying such was going against such wants. Yet, he was unable to cease doing so and decided that he would contemplate this at a later date. "I see. Then, she is a friend to you as well. Is there nothing that we could do to help her?"

"That is difficult to say. It normally does not take me so long to accept truths, but I still do not--" Nataku looked up at the ceiling, taking an inappropriate pause in what he was saying to find the right word. "--like the idea of temporary trouble." Another pause. "This is better than an empty warehouse. You may sleep here if you like."

An awkward transition to one of his concerns for his friend, but he still felt it needed to be offered. Even if it was not his home, and this did bother him quite a bit that he was offering something that perhaps was not in his right to offer, he still did not wish his ever-helpful friend to sleep somewhere unsafe.

“Umn it wouldn’t be a good thing to zee her or do zomethink for her- she’s got more oft a ego than you…Besides I’m thinking za longer they have her incarcerated maybe das funny man might come out and play again und that’d be more fun to watch…” That tutting gloved finger dropped down, limb hanging lazily off the side of the bed as he rotated to gaze absent mindedly upside down at the strange little friend of his.

Him, stay here to sleep? Well it was a nice place or so he could guess from the single room he was in and with the knowledge this had to be the cremdelacrem of Elysian- he had never been here before on one of his trespassing whims. Contemplating it in his mind as the blood rushed to his skull from his position, a single black furred ear gave a slight turn to one side as the rare need for confirmation arose.

“You-sure Natamousy?”

The prospect took most of his attention not even focusing on the fact Nataku held a dislike for Joker ever since he had learned of Schrödinger’s death through that rescue mission, one that Schrödinger had brought upon himself no less. After all Schrödinger knew he couldn’t die so easily, little did he know of the one person in this new place that actually could-keep him dead should the little cat-eared nuisance’s blood be absorbed.

"I see." He had not realized that if one's ego was larger than his own -- not a feat that was too amazing or great -- that they would be resistant to help. It was not something that he had encountered, but if that was how things were, then he would not offer his assistance in the manner. "She will not want our help." He reiterated this point, mostly for himself so that he could commit it to memory.

At the mention of the 'funny man,' Nataku paused in what he was going to say. It was somewhat different from the awkward pauses that he normally took, but still relatively hard to tell apart from his occasional disjointed manner of speaking. Regardless if Schrödinger was not upset about being injured or dying, he felt that it was wrong of the man to allow his best friend to have volunteered in the first place. He realized that his logic did not make much sense and that bothered him more than his sudden rush of anger. Unlike the Elysium and Terra people, he did not consider the Joker a 'bad man' because he killed people, but only because he inconvenienced Schrödinger. Glaring at the opposing wall for a few moments, he finally responded. "Understood." A curt tone that he never took with the cat before, but it was not meant for him, anyway.

He did not fidget much when he sat. It might have been because he simply did not know how to do so or if he was "afraid" to do so. Like he might touch or bother something in his environment that he should not. This left him rather stiff in his posture and looking mildly uncomfortable in doing so. Yet, he did not complain nor give any indication that he was planning on doing so. "I am certain. I would rather that you sleep here than in a warehouse." This had been the same reasons that he asked the cat to stay with the person in the hat and him, after all.

“Vell I wouldn’t…say zaaat” After all his ‘auntie’ would probably appreciate the help if it was in his power to do…well he did get Nataku out of the cop’s grasp and into this lavish estate~ maybe something was possible? Naahh why would he bother? It’d be going out of his way, besides he didn’t like the idea of entering a place crawling with cops-the hospital was one thing, this was another. Not to mention…Auntie had been so quiet lately! After he went to such trouble! So being the little brat cat he was he’d turn his little blonde tabby head away until due attention was granted to him again.

Skull still upside down, those deep sanguine orbs kept fixated on the other living paradoxes countenance, a dim smile sparked over his lips and slowly began to grow more in a hooked upside down slice of his usual Cheshire grin. He really didn’t know how to take the dislike Nataku seemed to harbor for the Joker-Schrödinger followed that man around to play in his bloody wake, fed only by scraps of amusement for such chaos that always did draw cheshires in. Though…Nataku obviously held a dislike, because…he-Immortal little brat of Neo Genesis was harmed?

It was a curious topic and one that didn’t sit at rest in that buzzing mind of half-thoughts. One thing he knew for certain though, the odd knowledge of Nataku having a dislike to someone who had perhaps ‘burdened’ him-did make a amusing little feeling of felicity well up inside his rib cage. Body shifted, and he rolled to right himself onto his stomach against the wrinkled sheets, black socked feet swaying in the dark air as his hands held his face up. “Okay- I’ll stay Nata-mousy~ Only because you asked zough. - ahn Ich not sleeping on za floor either” he added that last bit as a foot note, he was a cat after all and cats deserved to sleep in comfortable arrangements. The bed would be his place.

"Oh. Then, I suppose I do not understand her." That may have been because he had yet to speak to her as well. Still, if she was someone that his best friend liked and was not doing anything that would otherwise end in the cat's injury -- then, he had nothing but positive thoughts on her. "However, if you believe that she will be all right. There seems to be no reason for us to get involved, right now. It would be unfortunate if a certain officer's head was made into swiss-cheese." When his friend rolled over, Nataku tilted his head and body slightly so that he could be seen right-side-up for Schrödinger than upside down. It seemed more like he was about to fall over at any moment, almost all of his body tilted to the left, but somehow kept himself from doing so.

Naturally, he smiled when he heard that Schrödinger would stay for the night. Holding his hand out to the bed, he offered it without hesitation. "You may have the bed. I have slept enough for today." This was somewhat honest. He felt as though he slept enough. Without further ado, he stood up -- taking a moment to hold his head as suddenly standing had made him dizzy -- and walked to the dresser. Digging through the various bits of clothing in it, he took out a large shirt before holding it out for Schrödinger. He wondered if it was acceptable as pajamas and asked.

He also wondered if he should bring up the fact that he felt that he found his mouse. Those feelings that he had when he was with his parents. However, it seemed as though he had only found his father, but that was enough. The way that he felt around the Senator made it seem like he did not need his mother present. At least, at this point and time. "We spoke of mice before. Is it natural to find yours so soon?"

Another thought came to him which he felt like adding onto what he was saying. It was like he was afraid that he would not see Schrödinger in the morning or would forget what it was that he wanted to say. This may have all been prompted that he had not seen his friend in quite some time and there was an energy -- muted as it was coming from Nataku -- that he had upon being able to speak with Schrödinger for so long. "What are you doing for Halloween?"
