They caught the last train to Elysium, although it really wasn't all that late by the time they made their journey up. Security was still heavy, given that they were ascending rather than descending, but Shika's police work papers were again enough to get the Zeroes through. Tomorrow or the next day, he guessed, it wouldn't be so easy.
When they left the station, the difference between Elysium and Terra was as striking as between Terra and Abyss. Terra was a worn Level, a place filled with workers who left their mark on the landscape with grime and scuffs and gum on the sidewalk and soot on the windowsills. Elysium, on the other hand, was meticulously clean to an unreal degree. Even at the station where thousands of people walked, there was no mark to indicate their travel on the marble pavement. Shika navigated the streets easily, but that was partially due to how clearly and logically the Level's layout was planned, nothing like the organic development of the lower Levels.
Eventually they reached their destination: a looming mansion that looked far too sophisticated for the likes of Hidan, or at least Shika thought so. He was constantly amazed it was still standing whenever he came to visit. The gate was unlocked as usual, and although Shika had a key, he rang the doorbell when they reached the front entrance.
