He caught her prana signature before he caught her sight. Despite all the conflicting signals that he was being made marginally aware of in this new world, this particular one was... far more familiar.

It was a prana that he has already previously encountered, but... Different. Untainted - it was the prana of the Grail itself.

That was cause for mild shock. The Grail? Here? Yet it is conscious. Did a homunculus manage to house its powers AND retain their conscience? Even so, on a plane other than Fuyuki?

Interesting, to say the very least. He did not hesitate to walk towards that signal - and eventually, a rather familiar sight of a purple-haired girl came to be.

He knew her. Ever since she was a child, in fact, and spoke to her briefly again prior to the fifth war, as well. ...She is the vessel? But he witnessed Kirei getting hold of the Einzbern Homunculus and achieve that end with his own eyes. ...Is this yet another outcome of the Heaven's Feel that he was unaware of?

He casually sauntered up to her, though his ruby eyes were narrowed in mild annoyance.

"You, girl - heir of the Matou. What is this place?"

"Elysium." He repeats, sounding off the word under his breath.

Typical. Do all other planes' names end in "ium"? How dull. He scoff derisively at her startled mention of her grandfather, though this does bring up another interesting question.

Why would her first thought link him to her grandfather?

"No. Are you saying that the head of the Matou house is present on this plane as well?"

He scoffed. From what little he's gathered from Kirei during the Fourth War, Matou Zouken was even more despicable than the rest of the rotting lot that was the degenerative humanity of the modern era, and as for this brother of hers... Of course, the makeshift Master of Rider, an amateur who got himself killed rather early on for all his idiocy and folly. Gilgamesh didn't particularly pay attention to any of these events at the time, though he knew enough of the details.

...That may not matter, however, if she is from an entirely different outcome of the Heaven's Feel. The possibility has already been confirmed when the Fifth War's Archer was brought to his previous plane and spoke of a different denouement - he does not, however, recall any mention of the Matou girl becoming the Grail.

"Tch, typical. How did the fifth Heaven's Feel conclude within the Fuyuki that you hail from? I recall no instance hinting of a Matou becoming the Grail's vessel." The more pressing question would be just how she managed to maintain its power without giving any sign of corruption, though... all in due time.

She is not feigning ignorance - there was no point. What trickery is this? He impatiently clucked his tongue in irritation as he waved off her question.

"You will answer me first, girl. You are the one who summoned that snake wench Rider during the fifth Heaven's Feel, also known as the Holy Grail War, though it was that mongrel sibling of yours who participated - snd died - in your stead. You hold the grail's power, yet not the memory of how you have come to acquire it? What manner of ridicule is this?"

it's okay I'm using all my srs faces - which is a good thing? :D;;; rupturedbabylon December 12 2009, 04:59:04 UTC
"So you do not remember. It would be pointless to inquire you of the Tohsaka." He audibly scoffed. With all the rampant workings of the Second Magic that he's personally experienced for some time now, it would have been possible that she was simply Matou Sakura from a Fuyuki where the Grail did not exist.

That is, were she not holding the power of this very Grail.

"Is that not obvious? You cannot tell, even with that trinket's powers?" He replied dryly. He had no fear of this girl nor of this world, though he could feel the lightest tinge of unsettlement beneath all that load of annoyance. "More encumbrances of the Second Magic, it would appear."

He took her silence as acquiescence. She may be abashed, and while he has no intention of harming her, he fully intends to get answers from the only source available.

"Well? False memories or not, what can you tell me of this world, girl, and of yourself?"

So she lives in the upper district here - perhaps it is not all that surprising, if one is to draw a parallel of the weight behind the famed Matou and Tohsaka names relating to this girl in both worlds. Renowned magi in one, and... whatever mongrels do that gains them fame in another.

Still, none of that information is of any use, not to one who possesses no intention of lingering around.

"What of your family?" he continued blandly, somewhat aware of the fact that the limit to his patience is steadily approaching.

So that much remains unchanged. ...Magi? Perhaps this world wasn't as different as he first expected. He let loose a scoff at her mention of 'research' - truly, he would not know, was it not for the information that Assassin has gathered for Kirei during the fourth War, though while the practice is still despicable, he had no more reason to care now more than back then. The only purpose in discussing this is to gauge the similarities, and the differences.

"What do you recall of your... uncle?" Berserker's Master. A despicable Servant, though the Master was an entirely different matter. what was his name, now? "Kariya?"
