If Nill could have read minds, she definitely would've had to agree with Rhode's first train of thought. As much as she loved her life and had enjoyed the days she'd been given since leaving the labs, the only people she was every around were... well, boys, and though she loved them all quite dearly, Nill had always suspected it might be a little bit different to have a friend who was a girl instead of another boy.

She couldn't help but let out a soundless giggle at the mention of her 'new' friend being carried around on someone elses shoulders. Wasn't Rhode a bit big for that? It seemed as though her brother was very big... Nill suspected he was probably as strong as Rhode made him sound too, if that was the case. And again she nodded at the slightly smaller girls words, the smile not leaving her face. Under normal circumstances, she'd probably protest to being treated to ice cream and attempt to pay for herself, but she rarely took whatever money she might happen to have to school. She didn't really want the day to end d so soon, though, so she'd come along this time and then next time, if Rhode's brother took them, she'd treat the two siblings to something on another day.

She brought her notepad back and scribbled on the paper again with her pencil before holding it up for Rhode to see once more. There was only a single word written this time, but Nill figured it conveyed enough that she wouldn't need to say anymore than that. "definitely".

She liked Rhode plenty, after all, so why couldn't they remain friends?

Guess a good reason of why they couldn’t be friends was ‘cause just about a few minutes later was the monk all decked up in his typical leather kimono was taking his stride along the streets. Parents with their child’s hands in their own couldn’t help but to take a second glance as Genkaku made his way to his lil’ sister. Didn’t mean that he didn’t take notice of Nill, but it was difficult to recognize the faux-angel with her legs still attached and her skull flawless of any crossbow arrows.

The guitar was slung over his back and lips coiled around the cigar in mouth, a endless fume of smoke rising in the air and he took a length exhale as he stood just before the two girls -- with a exhale, he started to speak in a carefree casual tone that had the undercurrent of sadistic intentions that matched his wry grin that bore greedy teeth.

"Hey there princess." He addressed Rhode as a hand went through his hair. It was a familiar site really, as Genkaku was inhumanly tall and he easily loomed over her, but it wasn’t as though he wouldn’t hurt Rhode, he wasn’t that low. But his grin did widen when he directed his attention to Nill, giving out a arrogant snort he continued to talk, "Looks like you got a friend huh -- ?"

Rhode rocked on her heels, impatient for her caretaker. She understood what Nill meant, they'd agreed to be friends so that's how it would be. Grinning and happy, she brightened even more when she saw the familiar form of her guardian and caretaker. Launching herself at Genkaku, she wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face into his side, nuzzling his ribs like a cat in happiness.

"Big brother it was the best day ever, I made a friend!" Letting go of Genkaku abruptly, she spun on her heels and stepped towards Nill, reaching to take the girl's hand and drag her over, heedless of Nill's reaction to Genkaku. Or oblivious, it was hard to say.

"Nill this is my big brother, big brother this is Nill! Take us to ice cream, okay, big brother?" The request was really more a demand, but still holding Nill's hand, Rhode gazed up at Genkaku with a mix of adoration and spoiled expectancy.

Unfortunately for Nill, she had never been graced with the ability to sense when danger was near, never been able to tell who was a 'good' or 'bad' person just by being near them, so the shadow that suddenly towered over her and Rhode didn't concern her in the least at first, and she watched in her usual silence as the other girl launched herself at her seemingly idolized brother. The blond-haired teen looked up, a smile on her face and all ready to make the best impression she possibly could-- but the color immediately drained from her face when she saw just who her new friend was clinging to and her eyes went slightly wide, the smile she'd been wearing previously entirely gone by now.

At first she tried to pull away when Rhode pulled her over towards him, to run, but the poor thing had not been made for strength or fighting and couldn't manage to free herself; speed, stamina, and quick recoveries were how she was built. Survival, but not life or free free. Even someone as small as Rhode was enough to keep her in one place.

Nill simply stared up in silent terror at her new friends older brother, the man that had killed her.
