Most had understood detentions alone were fruitless in improving the behavior of certain students. It was nothing more than routine for him, a meager price for speaking his mind freely, even so he did not always attend. At the time he was inclined to finding a quiet place to sit down and ruminate on a few future prospects. The little farce of a punishment looked to accommodate his need.
Nishi snuck a glance through the partially open door: exempting the teacher the classroom looked vacant from his angle. He disdained his fellow troublemakers, so when he decided to enter and cought a glimpse of Kanji his subsequent reaction was far from favorable. "Portrait of failure..." the boy murmured to himself and moved to sit several desks behind the masterpiece.
Nishi folded his arms on the wooden surface and let hi eyes drift to the window. He did not acknowledge the teacher at all; members of the staff needed to do no more than stay quiet and perform their duties - keep those gears turning.
