He has yet to soak up any sleep, the night had been squandered on restless contemplation. A student in the same school as he fell under a maniac's blade and when the task was done it hardly looked like a human anymore. Nishi found this tremendously exciting, a fine diversion from a mundane and hollow existence. A cold wind lashed through the open window of his room but still sweat clung to his forehead and hands. He sat up sharply and threw his covers to the floor with an irate motion of his arm. Sleep was clearly not an option. Nishi sat at the edge of his bed for a time before opting to get dressed. He went downstairs, stepped past his front door and headed directly to the school. If the killer was part of the student body or employed at the school he wished to experience what it felt to be alone within his hunting ground.
Nishi had no qualms regarding breaking into the school but when his gloved fingers touched the knob of the back entrance door it turned easily in his grip. He did not find this unusual, the place was full of incompetent people unable to uphold even the simplest responsibilities. Weak morning light rendered the vacant halls a clean shade of gray that for a while he found aesthetically compelling.
Minutes slipped away without anything significant occurring within him. He felt a sharp disappointment for the suspicion the thrill he was after turned out to be unattainable. He walked aimlessly until a noise brought him back to reality. It was a voice shot through with pain. Nishi cautiously glanced left to right; he was by the girls' gym. The faint cries emerged from beyond the double doors. Evacuating was not even up for debate, he absolutely required to see what was taking place first hand. Nishi pushed open the door and stepped inside.
