Summary: It's just an ordinary day in the Abyss but Kanji has to be a hero.

It was a huge pain getting down to Abyss these days, but the cool thing about the mob was they could get anybody anywhere most of the time. As it was getting past curfew up above, Kanji already knew he'd have to be spending the night down in this dump. Which meant he'd be missing school again tomorrow (fuck, his mom would be all upset and stuff) but at least he wouldn't have to hurry his business trying to catch the last train.
It was already dark as he left the station, though not completely. The twilit underground sky was a murky, pukey orange color that made the already ugly landscape look even less artistic. Not that Kanji was thinking about it. He was reading instructions off a scrap of paper in his hand. He turned south and started walking in that direction past crowds of freaks who ignored him entirely because he blended right in down here. Not like up in Terra.
The further he walked, the less the directions made sense. Either he wasn't spotting the landmarks or they'd been torn down recently. He stopped and looked around, trying to decide whether to backtrack or keep going.
