A. Short (paraphrased) dialogue with my dad while he brought me to the bus terminal one day:
Dad: I let Kurt drive today. Out of the three of you, he learned how to drive the fastest.
Me: (not surprising, considering he has good hand-eye coordination and...)
Dad: I'll let him drive (manual transmission) one day
Me:(...no wonder. I was the only one "extensively taught" how to drive manually. Please consider that)
B. Christmas Season: Is it me, or am I the only one NOT planning to file for at least one day of vacation leave? Heck I'll still be working even on December 26 (day of Litonjua Christmas reunion). I am such a Scrooge (pero babawi ako next year...maybe; see D)
C. Company Christmas party: I took great pains to make sure my face was well covered during our Christmas-presentation-of-shame(such that videos/pictures will not have a clear view of my face). And it worked. It also helps that pictures of me were kept to a minimum. Yes, I'm THAT camera-shy.
D. Need to save up for next year. I might be sent overseas, because I have not used my visa even once. Planned budget: 40% on everyday expenses, 60% on "souvenirs" (though I'd like to keep it 20/80 if I could). Hay, electronics pa rin ang iniisip ko kahit sa biyahe (masmura kasi sa labas).
On the whole, I realize my life is "boring," at least with respect to other people's. Trust me: if you were in my shoes, you'd be bored to death. Really, the only major differences that have occurred was when I transitioned between levels of education, and finding work. Other than that, I'm still (almost) the same me from 10 years ago. I still like it though, because as much as possible, I'd like keep things as simple as possible. I'm content with the little out-of-the-norm activities that pop up once in a while.
This year's no different, and I'm guessing next year will be "same old" as well. But I'm not complaining.
