So I finally passed the "gruesome" training and probation period of the company I work for. However, what I found most amusing was this: of all the people facing final evaluations, 90 percent of those who were regularized were apprehensive, scared, and uncertain about themselves when they faced their mentor and the HR person. Their hands were cold to the touch when you held them. Mine was not.
I guess there is some significance in experiencing failure so early in your life. Unlike me, these guys most probably never got an F in their transcript for instance, or were at the brink of failing their subject. Therefore, I guess their behavior is understandable. Then again, maybe some of them are just outright shy/natural worrywarts.
Oh well, life moves on. And I keep my job, for now.
