kristykama. It’s one out of two or three short stories written for her as a Christmas present. I never wrote Saga x Shou before, I never wrote anything with Alice Nine at all, so I’m sorry if it’s OOC and just…not…right…
Shou looked out of the window in his living room; outside it was snowing heavily and the street lights nearly drowned in the thick blanket of white. Christmas had finally come to Tokyo, with its glittering Christmas decorations, carols, gifts and whatnot, but the blonde singer wasn’t in a Christmassy mood at all. The band had decided to spend their holidays with their family, since they hadn’t had that opportunity last year due to being on tour.
Shou’s mother was still angry at him for not being there last year, and had probably refused his father to invite him. He had tried to apologize and make it up to her during the entire year, but all in vain. His family was probably gathered in his parents’ house by now, chattering and having a good time without him.
When Shou had inquired his boyfriend, Saga, about spending Christmas with him, the brunette had dismissed the idea of the singer coming over with Saga to visit his family for unknown reasons. So Shou had settled with the thought of being alone without his family or his boyfriend.
So far Shou’s Christmas Eve had consisted mostly of lounging on the couch in his silk pajamas, watching reruns of Christmas TV shows while munching on some dinner scraps from the day before. His cell phone had occasionally jingled with text messages from Hiroto and Nao, wishing him a Merry Christmas and well wishes. Even Tora had sent him a text message, but Shou wasn’t in the mood to reply any of them. Saga hadn’t even bothered to message him to ask how things were going or reply to any of the messages Shou had sent him, and that had pummeled the last bit of the blonde’s good mood to death.
After wasting another hour with TV reruns, Shou decided to play some on his PSP in hopes of it cheering him up. Unsurprisingly enough, it only took about a minute or two of gaming before the vocalist had regained some of his good humor. Shou groaned as he died for the fifth time during a boss fight, but not even that could take away the joy he felt when losing himself within the virtual worlds of his beloved games.
Suddenly the doorbell rang and broke Shou’s concentration on his game. He was hesitant to break off his gaming since he had finally gotten past a really hard part in the game, but as the doorbell rang again he paused and decided to take a rest from it. Shou threw the game aside on the table and jumped out of the couch, wrapping his college sweater tighter around his slim frame.
As his bare feet hurried across the cold floor he couldn’t help wondering who would come by at this time of the day, considering it was Christmas Eve. Surely it was just one of the neighbors needing to borrow a cup of sugar or something. The doorbell rang for the third time. “I’m coming, I’m coming!” he called out a little edgily as he reached for the door handle and turned the key.
The face that met the blonde when he opened the door was the last he had expected to see. “Sagacchi?” he said surprised and looked the shorter man up and down. Saga’s nice, black apparel was soaked and plastered to his features, making him appear even skinnier than he already was. His brown hair hang in clusters over his face, his thin eyebrows creased in a frown.
Saga lifted his gaze at the sound of Shou’s voice, his frown softening and disappearing as he looked into the other man’s big, gentle eyes. “Hi,” he said, his lips creasing into a smile. “Mind if I come in? It’s freezing out here.”
Shou just nodded smilingly and stepped aside before the brunette proceeded to walk into the warm apartment. “What are you doing here? I thought you were celebrating Christmas with your family?” the singer asked, unable to suppress the happiness of seeing his lover as he closed the door again. Saga stood before him with his back turned to Shou, hands tucked into the pockets of his pants. “And why are you completely soaked?”
“Well, I kind of lied to you. I haven’t been with my family, I’ve been in town,” Saga said and turned around. Shou’s mouth fell ajar. “Don’t get all hot and bothered just yet, Shou,” the shorter man smiled and reached a hand out, closing the blonde man’s mouth gently. “I lied because I wanted surprise you,” Saga said, his hand lingering under Shou’s chin for a moment before it dropped slowly. “I was in town to buy you a Christmas gift, but when I was on my way here my car broke down, so I walked the rest of the way. I didn’t bring my jacket because I thought I would be driving,” the brunette explained with a sheepish grin.
“You walked all the way here, out in the snow, without a jacket just to surprise me?” Shou nearly whispered, a small smile forming on his lips. His lover nodded, the sheepish grin still adorned his mouth as he reached into the pocket of his pants and pulled out a small parcel. The parcel was wrapped in a shimmering red wrapping paper and was decorated with a golden bow.
Saga held out the gift and said: “Merry Christmas, Shou. I’m sorry I lied to you, I hope you can forgive me.”
“Don’t worry about it. All I wanted for Christmas anyway, was you Saga,” Shou replied with a smile as he took the gift into his hands and started to unwrap it carefully. Saga couldn’t help but notice how beautifully Shou’s large and excited eyes reflected the shimmering of the wrapping paper; how the blonde’s lanky fingers parted the paper surrounding the gift.
When Shou opened the parcel his face twisted into a perplexed expression. “Sagacchi, I already have a PSP,” he said with a guilty tone in his voice, afraid to come off as ungrateful. The blonde studied the smooth, black handheld console with furrowed brows. “I know you do,” Saga said playfully. “Then why did you get me another one?” Shou questioned bemused and looked at his lover.
The brunette moved closer to him and wrapped his arms around the taller man’s waist. “Well, you always complain how we never play any games together, right?” Saga whispered into Shou’s ear and the blonde nodded hesitantly. “How about we go and play some two players…?” Saga continued with a grin on his face. The blonde chuckled as the meaning behind his lover’s word sunk in. “I hope you’re not a sore loser,” Shou said teasingly. “Don’t worry about that. I’m not going to be the sore one after we’re done with this game, baby,” the brunette answered as they headed for the bedroom.
