Previous Updates Sorry it's late, everybody, but real life has stopped me from playing as much as I'd like recently. Hopefully we can go back to a routine now.
Previously on the Prettyface Prettacy: Polly was a charming toddler, and grew into an equally charming child. Alumina the nanny was competent, and rocked on the dance floor. Marquise gave birth to another girl, Priscilla, who takes after Percy in a lot of ways. Oh yes, and
Homer Land disturbed everyone with his green fumes.
We start off with a look at Percy's wants and fears. Because I don't remember if I mentioned it before, his secondary aspiration is Knowledge, so I think this is just a small hesitation that's bound to go away pretty soon.
Polly needs a new everyday outfit, so I sent him to Widespot's General Store for it.
I had him buy an extra outfit, just in case - hopefully, the extra one will look good on Priscilla when she ages.
We have no Widespot playables in this update, but say hello to the local cashier, Sadie Wilkie. The game renames townies and NPCs in both shopping districts and downtowns, but I grew so attached to the two teen NPCs when I played Widespot as a regular hood that I used SimPe to restore their names.
Aww, it's nice to know Polly is determined to be a good big sister.
And her she is with her chosen outfit. I wanted her to wear something black so it would match her hairband, but at the same time I wanted it to look cute and fun rather than Wednesday Addams-y.
Wait... Polly, what are you doing?
Polly, dear, don't do that!
"Bleaauuurgh!"
I told you not to do it.
Marquise needs to gain a bucketload of body points for her next promotion, but I had to stop her way before she achieved it as it was too late and her comfort, hygiene and energy bars were in the red.
Here's the second teen NPC from Widespot, Viola Toyonaga. She looks very cheerful today.
Polly fulfilled her wish to play peek-a-boo.
Percy and Marquise express their three bolts as Alumina returns. You know what the latter means, of course.
It's funny to see what's on their minds as they leave for work.
"Oh boy, I hope I learn a lot at the station."
"Seeeeeeeex..."
"Why do I need to empty the potty? Stupid kids."
Someone's grumpy today.
Incidentally, it's Saturday so Polly is staying at home. I take advantage of this and make the girls bond a little bit more, courtesy of the activity table.
"Daddy's not home yet, Mr Warlock."
I finally took note of the Evil Warlock's name - it's Parthenios Troop. I think I'll stick to "Evil Warlock" for now, as it's easier.
Since Priscilla rolled the want to learn the nursery rhyme, I make Polly teach her - both because it's the only skill kids can teach, and it's still a while before the grown-ups are back, and because it's adorable when they do it.
"All right, 'Cilla, now sing it with me."
"No!" *picks nose furiously*
"Aww. :("
Eventually, though, she manages to teach the damn thing.
"Did I do well?"
Yes, dear, but stop staring at me like that. It's a little unnerving.
I said stop.
"Aw, but you've got to see what I just made! It's really good!"
She's more than happy to talk about music to Alumina.
"Hello! Sim made of win here!"
I love how kids always rush to hug their parents when they're back. Percy definitely deserves it today.
And Marquise was unable to get the skill points she needs, but she still gets a hug as well.
Well, and that.
She immediately goes back to trying to earn those points - and wow, I can't stop staring at those abs.
David Ottomas seems to approve of them, too.
"Heeeey, Mrs P!"
She still doesn't achieve her goal, but at least she gains entrance to the secret gym.
I use the promotion money to enlarge the nursery. No more congestions or problems with screenshot angles.
I also give Polly her own desk. It's still two days before she goes to school, but everything is ready for the big day now.
It's Sunday, and Marquise leaves for work by herself.
Percy takes advantage of his day off and spends some time fulfilling his youngest's wants.
Prettyface potty-face picspam.
Marquise is there to help, too.
Priscilla becomes the first Prettyface who doesn't have Nature as an OTH.
Another first for my game: a nanny who gets along well with the father. Usually they become enemies if I'm not careful.
That's a strange want, given that her parents are three-bolters - but okay, let's go for it.
The time has come. Let's see if Priscilla has the Evil Walking Face.
I think she's trying to look evil, but failing.
Another wish granted.
Marquise comes back, and Polly rushes to greet her.
let's take a closer look, shall we?
"I'm sooooo glaaaaaad you're baaaaack, Muuuuuuuummyyyy..."
Yikes.
You had just left!
And besides, Percy is a little bit busy right now...
...helping his youngest daughter win at life.
It's the next morning, and I'm amused to witness this. Marquise decided to tuck in Polly, who reacts grumpily to the gesture.
"Muuuum! Go away, I was sleeping!"
It's time for the little sleepyhead to wake up, though.
Two buses!
Polly seems a bit nervous.
Really nervous.
"Smile and nod, and find a seat right at the back, and she won't kill you. Smile and nod..."
And with good reason, if you think about it.
"Hehehehehehehe."
Meanwhile, Priscilla becomes the next victim of the delusion that all cow mascots are sweet and cuddly.
Alumina! You had just fed her a bottle. Why did you need to give her a second one?
"Time management. I'm going outside and dance."
*sighs* To her credit, though, she cleaned up those bottles the moment they got spoiled.
Finally, Marquise got her long-coveted promotion.
She and Polly (who also arrived at the same time as Mummy and Daddy) were followed by two downtownies - who, again, were given some awesome names by my game.
"Helloooooo! Will anyone greet the AWESOME SWAT Team Leader?"
"What about me? I'm an ALL STAR now!"
"Just wait until I put down my homework, guys. I'll be right back."
Or not.
"Help! The desk is in my way even though I was able to go through wood to put my homework on it!"
*sighs* Sims...
Still, she managed to run back and greet Marquise before that dropped off her queue.
EEK! No, we will NOT let Percy's friendship with Undine drop. We need to add that face to the gene pool in the near future. So get thee to the phone, Percy!
Erm... That's not where you should leave the receiver, you know.
I decided to have a look outside, and found this. Let's take a closer look at everybody's reaction.
"Tee-hee, this lady is funny."
"Man, grown-ups are crazy!"
"Yaaaay, I'm the queen of the dance floor!"
Moving on...
Guys, the tradition goes that parents woohoo after a birthday, not before.
Still no chimes, though, in spite of those two trying for baby every single time. I need to focus on making Marquise permaplat, because there's a chance she might not get the third kid she needs to achieve her LTW.
Polly is the first sim I have who doesn't react to the cake in disgust. On the other hand, she's staring at me again.
Yes, Percy, your wife is right behind you. Try to focus on the task at hand, though, as your daughter is trying to touch the flame and I don't think that's good for her.
Here we go...
And we have another happy transition.
Oh my, that mouth. She needs to get to a mirror stat, though - it's not that I dislike that hairstyle, or that it looks bad on Priscilla, but since 90% of the girls born in my game end up getting it, I'm a bit fed up with it.
Aww.
And here's Priscilla after her makeover. The second outfit Percy bought looks great on her, as do those pigtails.
And yes, that's her own desk behind her. Since both Percy and Marquise got promotions, I took advantage of the massive boost in their earnings and expanded the ground floor, and made the girls' bedroom bigger in order to accommodate the two beds and desks and still leave a lot of breathing space. I think you're aware by now that I like my sims to have spacious quarters.
The rest of the extra room added to the house is still unfurnished and with unfinished walls and floor, but that's going to be added as soon as there's money for it. I know that, in time, they'll be so rich I won't know what to do with the money, so I'm in no hurry.
Also, go home, Nefertiti. You're starting to get a little too comfortable with your co-worker's stuff.
Before I know it, the girls decide to use what's now the (narrow-ish) corridor linking to the new part of the house for some impromptu pillow-fighting.
This bit of fun is perfect to show the epicness of both their faces, and how hard it will be for me to make a choice when the time comes.
Because body skill is the big problem for both Percy and Marquise, career-wise, I decide to move the stereo inside, letting it rest in the spare room until I can make either a living room or a gym for them. The main reason for this decision (besides the fact I now have room for it, that is) is because there's a heavy thunderstorm outside and I don't want to see them get struck by lightning just because they need to work out.
Anyway, as bedtime approaches, I think the time has come to end this update. See you soon!
