Previously on the Prettyface Prettacy: Our founder, Percy, moved to a small trailer-like home in a large lot. He went to a couple of places downtown, where he befriended the evil warlock and had a date with a girl named Marquise, who later showed up at his doorstep at nearly 2am just for a kiss, leaving both Percy and myself intrigued.
Note: Mary and Beulah Land were created by Peni Griffin and come from the
Widespot shopping district.
Percy needs to earn a body point in order to improve on his job (and has rolled a want to gain a skill point), so I make him skip rope. He decides the bathroom is spacious enough for this.
It not only does the trick, but it makes him fit. Look at that proud little face.
Now that I've fulfilled his want, he's rolled another one I'll be more than happy to help him with.
I make him call Marquise, hoping that she'll be home.
She is, and she wants to bring someone along with her. Without thinking, I agree.
The "friend" in question is Joe Graham, aka the garden club guy who was stalking Percy when he was trying to get to know Marquise better. I'm using the quotation marks because I later on realized they're only acquaintances.
She seems a little embarrassed when greeting Percy. Maybe it's because Joe's there, or maybe she's embarrassed with the way she acted last night.
"Hi, Percy! Here I am, and I'm not a creepy stalker. Really! Hehehe?"
Don't try so hard, dear. The boy is already smitten.
See?
Percy immediately asks Marquise to move in with him, She seems to be in utter ecstasy about this development.
Percy, on the other hand, looks high. Or maybe possessed.
He also seems to be absorbing her hair through his cheek.
Well, it's enough to help with what I have in mind for them.
She wants to be engaged too, which is definitely a good sign.
There are priorities, though.
And they're not limited to her needs bar.
I love it that her pick-up line seems linked to his job of catching bad guys. Maybe she's calling him heroic?
Whatever her intention is, it worked.
Aww. I mean, it looks like the Cookie Monster is staring at them, but aww.
No baby chimes, though.
Then, and only then, do we get the engagement proposal.
Marquise looks shocked.
And Percy... well, I'm definitely going for possessed now.
So cute.
And here's what I do with the money Marquise brought with her. They both want a wedding party, so while I'm not the best party-maker when it comes to sims, I feel like I should oblige.
Why only three chairs, do you ask? Well, while making Marquise invite the guests, I noticed they could only invite two people, and since they already have Joe Graham in there, I guess that makes him guest number three.
I wanted to invite Grace Duckling, but since she and Percy aren't friends yet (and the evil warlock would probably create a thunderstorm or something) I decided instead to ask Marquise's two actual friends to come. The brunette is called Rosario, while the blonde (AKA the slouchy stalker we saw on the previous post) is called Justice.
Uh-oh.
Note to self: next time, check your sims' work schedule before starting a party.
Since time isn't on our side (as Marquise has no vacation days and we need all the money they can earn) I guess we better get this show on the road.
And I must say I'm so happy the game gave her a dress that's perfect for the occasion. I was afraid she'd be wearing something not very appropriate for a bride. I should have removed her glasses beforehand, though.
The ceremony was perfect. Well, it looks as if Percy is eating her face in that last picture, but otherwise it was absolutely beautiful.
The guests also seem pleased. But... wait, why is there an empty seat?
Oh. Damn you, Justice.
And right on cue, the carpool arrived.
"Well, it's time to go. See you later, everybody!"
"She looks so cute with that llama costume. ++"
The bride might have left, but the groom carries on, playing the perfect host and trying to make the guests feel welcome.
And everybody seems to enjoy the buffet.
Damn, I forgot to turn the fridge around. Still, they also seem to be enjoying the instant meals, so I guess this is also a plus.
At some point, Percy got fed up of playing host and decided to have a small change of scenery.
"Hello, leg. Aren't you a pretty one?"
In the end, though, everything was well. Clearly, a wedding party can still be a success even when the bride and groom decide to vanish.
You should feel proud.
We interrupt this update to show you a random passerby who, in spite of having the Goopy GilsCarbo face, is still drop dead gorgeous. *adds her to the list of potential future spouses*
I realize there's something in the mailbox, and make Percy get it.
"Hang on, what's this?"
"Oh, right. It's from Marquise, thanking me for that first date! Aw, she shouldn't have!"
She definitely should, dear, if only for the look on your face.
Hello again, Justice. No, she's not. You would have known that, if you hadn't spent the whole party googling for arts and crafts.
As soon as night breaks, Percy leaves for work...
...and an hour later, Marquise arrives. She's got a good reason to be pleased, but I have to say I'll be sorry to see that costume go.
It's her turn to gain a body skill point, and since the stereo is still playing, I make her take advantage of it.
Now, a small note: I've noticed some sims in my game wearing everyday separates instead of gym clothes and outerwear ever since I've installed some swimwear tops and bottoms. This is a side-effect rather than a glitch or a game problem, but some combination of clothes look weird. I think I'm going to keep what Marquise is wearing here, though, as it still works for me - she's wearing sneakers and everything. I hope they'll have a dresser once the cold weather comes, though, as I still have no idea what outerwear she'll get.
You can't see it here, but the wedding cake was already covered in green fumes and flies. I was able to sell the rest of the wedding stuff again (and get them a new desk, dining table and alarms - I'm keeping the stereo) but cakes can't be sold again, which is a shame since they didn't get the chance to enjoy that part of the ceremony.
Anyway, here's out Gen 1 spouse! I'm not sure about the sunglasses yet (they're cool, but they cover her yellow eyes), but I don't think she requires any makeover.
Her turn-ons are good cooks and fitness, and she's turned-off by hats - so it's a good thing any hat I've tried on Percy was too small for his skull. And, like him, her OTH is Nature, so hopefully very soon I'll give them a pond and/or a vegetable garden to keep them entertained.
Her energy bar was very low, but instead of heading straight to bed, she decided to play some computer games.
By the way, I love the yellow stains on the edges of their new desk (which, like most of their furniture, comes from the Seasons EP as I want to make things have a certain country-ish theme to them). It makes it look very old-fashioned and authentic.
And Percy got himself a promotion as well. Look at that happy face.
Marquise congratulates him by piercing through his face.
And then they decide to celebrate their big day with an attempt to try for baby, though they had no luck so far.
Incidentally, I decided that, for this generation, I won't intentionally make them try for baby. With them both being Family sims and having two-bolt chemistry (which might upgrade to three bolts when they gain more cooking points, as that's a turn-on they both have) I'm sure they'll be more than happy to work on that without my help.
They both crash immediately afterwards, but sadly the once again possessed Percy won't be able to fill his energy bar completely, as his new promotion forces him to get up early-ish.
Be careful with your shoulder there, Perce.
Since Marquise has a day off and a desire to gain more Cleaning points, I make her study a bit. It will increase her enthusiasm in Nature, which is definitely a good thing.
Percy is a friendly guy, but I think at this point he'd want to look good - so study it is.
Damn.
Oh look, it's Mary Land from Widespot!
NO. Bad Percy.
Mary would have been a great spouse for Percy, but it's too late now. I admire his taste, but he needs to behave - especially since her Pa also works at the police station with them.
Still, there's nothing wrong with making them have friendly interactions. Who knows, she might make a future Prettyface heir a very lucky man.
Once Mary leaves, Percy turns his attention to the true object of his affection.
We interrupt this courting to show you Mary's mother, Beulah, walking past the Prettyface house. Don't worry, your little girl is home now.
When I get back to Percy and Marquise, they're once again trying to become parents.
And this time they're successful.
So... Boy or girl? And what will it look like? You'll have to wait and see, I'm afraid.
See you soon!
