Sooo. I had been visiting my alien friends again.
(Yes, this is Awesome speaking, in case you didn't know it already.)

And they still haven't fixed that little problem with the landing.

Ah well, apart from that, it was fun.

A lot of fun.

Thank goodness Darell understands.

Anyway, it was late so everybody went to bed as soon as I was safely back on Earth.

The next morning found Darell and myself enjoying the pleasures of Father's Bubble Corner.

I managed to catch some pretty big fishes...

...before heading off to work.

Meanwhile, Father took it upon himself to potty train Adorable.

And I'm glad to say he's succeeded.
"Uh... why is there a big red potty floating over my head?"

He also fed the carps in the koi pond Darell earned at his work. Let's hope he doesn't overdo it.

Later that evening, I came home with a little promotion... and a really terrible indisposition.

I didn't have time to worry about it, though, because all my children were celebrating their birthdays and I would not miss it for the world.

First, Adorable.
"Pwetty lights!"

So, goodbye to my adorable little girl...

...and hello to my adorable big girl.

She seemed rather excited with it all.

Next, Clever.

He looked rather dashing.

Because it was rather late, both Adorable and Clever went to bed straight away and missed the rest of the celebration.

Next, Kind...

...who looks a little... well, like a surfer boy.
"Mum, dude, this party is, like, far out!"

He didn't even bother to go to the toddler mattresses we spread all over the house and decided to sleep on a cat bed.
"This one's comfier, dudzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..."

And finally, Sweet.

I think she takes a lot after me, wouldn't you agree? She has her father's eyes and her grandfather's dumbo ears, though. I did not pick my hairstyle to cover my ears. No siree, nuh-huh.

She had the foresight to head to a toddler mattress, though.

Taking the children's lead, the adults decided it was time for bed as well.
"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I'm amazinzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..."

I had to get up in the middle of the night due to the youngest member of the family, though.

But that's okay, because Clever was also awake (in shock because his hair grew amazingly quickly while he was asleep, I guess) and so I was able to tend to him.

"Hey, Naenae, look at this. Wahaaaawaa."

"Maybe we should contact that Opal girl and have her explain it to you again? You don't seem to have got the hang of it yet."

Everybody got up very early. Adorable took advantage of this and spent some time learning how to play chess...

...before heading out for her first day of school.

Meanwhile, Sweet showed that she deserves the name we gave her...

...while Kind was a bit embarrassed with the attention we gave him.
"Er, dude, can't you, like, turn that camera somewhere else? You're ruining my potty mojo."

"Young lady, kindly get your hands off me."
"Kitty!"
"Yes, that's my name."
"Pwetty kitty!"
"Dear lord..."

"Man, let's hope that girl will not try to grab me like that."

In order to give Miss Kitty a break, I tried to distract Sweet by teaching her a nursery rhyme.

Meanwhile, Adorable came back from school...

...with a little surprise.
"Hello, everybody! My name is Saffron and I'm here to rock your socks with my amazing smustling dragon power!"

"You don't believe me? Well, watch this!"

"Hey, Saffron, what are you d..."

"Ooh, that looks like fun!"

"Yaaaaaaay smustling dragon!"
Oh brother. I thought I only needed to start worrying about the sort of friends my children have once they became teenagers.

Anyway, at some point Bright decided to drop in.

"Hello, son. I missed you!"
"Hi, Mum. How are things?"

And Darell came home with the most amazing of news.

And this is how they decided to celebrate it.

With one notable exception.
"Damn, I never seem to be able to clean that spot properly..."

That must have hurt.

Actually, there were three more people at home who were not smustling.

"Oh, blue block. You look so perfectly made and beautiful. It will be a pleasure to use you in my project."

"Dude, blue blocks are not to play with. They're meant for, like, chewing on."

"And yellow blocks are meant to smash things when you're angry!"

"Heheheh. Ain't I a stinker?"

"Er, Mum, I don't want to alarm you, but I think this girl is choking me with her thoughts."
"I cannot help it, Mr. Witch Man. Such it the burden of being a smustling dragon."

Evening came along, and we finally got rid of that dragon girl. Darell and I immediately decided to celebrate it - and his promotion, of course.

And Adorable finally managed to do her homework.

It was a lovely bit of quality time. Just us and the baby.

Meanwhile, Father decided to teach Pip some tricks.

After a game of rock, paper, scissors...

...Mother and Bright decided to join him in the difficult task of pampering our pets.

"What is it with all these roses?"
Yes, those "dream date" bouquets my parents are always dropping on the doorstep seem to multiply every second.

As night was falling, I decided it was time for the toddlers to go to sleep.

Kind, ever the independent, rushed to a toddler mattress instead of waiting for me to pick him up.

Awesome was still full of energy...

...so I let Father take care of her while I rushed to bed.

Darell, meanwhile, decided to spend a little more time improving his skills building robots.

Eventually, Bright decided to go to his own place...

...around the same time the toddlers decided to wake up.
"What, nobody to help me out? This is outrageous!"

"Ah well, it's not like I can't do it myself."

"Wow, Kind was right. The blue blocks are indeed very good if you need to chew something."

Needless to say, Darell got too enthralled in his hobby and neglected his own needs.
"Ewwwwwwwww."

"Mum? Muuuum! You need to wake up right now!"

"Oh my goodness! Pink dust?"

"I figured you'd appreciate it."

"Aw, thank you, sweetheart. How did you know?"
"Call it instinct."

And with this picture of familial bliss I leave you for now. Until next time!
