I decided to browse through the Tragical History Tour website, and found some pictures from the 1973 Radio Times Anniversary Special I didn't know existed. So, here's all the pictures of that special that I know of:
(
Eight pictures, four companions, and three rather pissed-off beasties. )
Here's a picspam I made of the surviving episode from that serial, in case you're curious. That story is made of glorious crack.
Incidentally, have there ever been companions who weren't/didn't look human? Or have they all been humanish?
Well, in television canon the only two non-humanoid companions were K9 and Kamelion, though since the latter spent most of his time out of sight somewhere inside the TARDIS there's some debate over whether he counted as a companion. Everybody else was either from Earth, or humanoids that could easily be mistaken by Earthlings (Susan, Romana, Turlough, Adric, Nyssa).
In the comic books there was also Frobisher, who was a metamorph who liked to disguise himself as a penguin, Destrii, and Kroton the Cyberman with Feelings. There might be others, but I'm not really familiar with the comics - in fact, I refuse to acknowledge their existence most of the time, as Jamie dies in one of the comics. Luckily, the canonicity of the formats outside of the TV series depends on the person's perspective.
Oh, and in the Big Finish Audios, there's also C'rizz. I don't know much about him, since I'm not very familiar with the BFAs, but I've heard he's really amazing.
