I'm on a crazy country/bluegrass/string and jug band music kick. my friends here all mock me. i got in a fight yesterday about whether or not Johnny Cash was country. SO COUNTRY! the tour that made him, elvis, and jerry lewis big was for country music. i get if you dont like tim mcgraw, but you have to respect the genre. their only argument was johnny cash couldnt be country cause he was good. what?
also, it's so much fun.
i like josh thompson, old crow medicine show, the carolina chocolate drops, john doe and the sadies, and johnny cash (thats country, bluegrass, string band, and more country. although itunes says carolina chocolate drops is pop. bull. shit.) any other suggestions? please share. i need more.
ive also been listening to a lot of scottish stuff. which somehow seems connected in my head. the ancestor? also totally awesome. i finally found a version of loch lomond that doesnt suck.
*sigh* no one understands. but it makes the library so much more bearable.
the winchester brothers would listen to country with me. and 80s rock.
