Yes, yes. I know. A startling title.
But apparently it's true. I just got awarded a £20 academic prize by the RH Classics department for my (to quote Jonathan Powell, head of dept.) "excellent performance". What the hell. But I checked. It definitely says my name and everything.
Evidently no one told him about the five or six late essays... o.O
And apart from the flattering letter from Jonathan Powell, I also got a cheque for £20! Technically they intend you to spend it on books, but considering just on Tuesday I spent £33 on "Roman Homosexuality" and "Hadrian's Empire: When Rome Ruled the World", I'm going to consider it retroactively spent on books and use it for whatever I like (which, let's face it, will probably be books anyway - it doesn't say they have to be course-relevant).
But yeah.... go me, I think. Second Classics award, including the DCHS one. *dancedance*
Wow. Am actually really quite light-headed now.
By the way, Death Cab for Cutie were EXCELLENT. They played all their best songs! The only one I missed was What Sarah Said... but I could forgive them that. Everything else was there! And it was kinda nice not to be crushed in a mosh pit for once. That was an extremely tame crowd.
And the support act were great, too. See: Gorgeous keyboard/guitar playing girl. <3 And the songs were cool. I just downloaded one of their albums and have been enjoying it all day.
