Mreeeee. ^^ Just finished reading Anansi Boys. Gorgeous book. I love Neil Gaiman so so so much; I think he's probably my very favourite author. To those of you who have read this splendid book and remember it to a certain level of detail, I say, "The lime! <3". The rest of you will not understand. Read the book and start a fanclub for the lime with me.
Yes, I should really be working or cleaning my room or sleeping and trying to get rid of my cough - for which I can see people wanting to garotte me in my next exam, but feckit. I'm pleased with my readerlyness. I have now read 9 books this year. I know, I know. Nothing compared to a lot of you. But it's frickin' win for me. This time last year I had read three books: Hart's Hope - Orson Scott Card, Walking on Glass - Iain Banks and M*A*S*H - Richard Hooker. This year, I have managed:
1. Fragile Things -- Neil Gaiman *
2. Prince Caspian -- C.S. Lewis *
3. The Savage Garden -- Mark Mills
4. Alexander: Child of a Dream -- Valerio Massimo Manfredi
5. Torchwood: The Twilight Streets -- Gary Russell *
6. Hotel World -- Ali Smith
7. Jennifer Government -- Max Barry (not sure if this should be counted as f/s-f. It's dystopic, but most of the technology etc.'s not far removed from our own and it's set on Earth and everything.)
8. I Am Legend -- Richard Matheson *
9. Anansi Boys -- Neil Gaiman *
Italics denote my favourites, small font = the really really poor ones (in my opinion). Asterisks (*) = fantasy/sci-fi. Going to try Scar Night*, Lies of Locke Lamora* or possibly Specimen Days next.
