Walk on streets of fire
Caged in with razor wire
Shot down, living in the DMZ
~ Everyday Combat, Lostprophets
It's actually been nearly 24hrs since I last posted here. Nadia hass returned from her long absence from Livejournal and now cannot be kept away. Teeheeheehee.
Anyway, I must have been up to some terribly exciting things, to necessitate such prolific updating, right? Uh... wrong. Well, I went to lunch with quite a few relatives. Great aunt, three cousins + their spouses, so: Marjorie, David, Nick, Andrea, Roger... and that other one. A very nice woman whose name I'm afraid I cannot remember for the life of me. And we discussed the family tree for a while - Nick's been researching it, as - apparently - has just about every other relative I have. (I really wanna get in on that, particularly one of the Irish branches...) And it turns out the relatives we always thought had been Welsh as far back as the druids was actually originally Irish as well. So I really am basically Irish/Egyptian in everything but geography. Yay for a history of being colonised by the English. ;>>
Then we went back to the Great Aunt's - saw her cat, although he doesn't like to live inside apparently, and he wasn't very friendly.
We also visited one of the cousin+spouse's houses, which is actually in Wales. I hadn't realised how far West we were here. Shows how great my geography is, eh? Anyway, they live on the other side of a valley from Rednor Forest which is supposedly home to the Last Welsh Dragon - whose going to be good for at least one story, when I finally get all my other projects in some sort of order (which will presumably be defeated by the better organised chaos in due course): there are four churches around thie forest, and the story tells that if even one of the churches should dissolve or fall down the dragon will awaken and wreak wrath and ruin upon the land. Sounds like a sight to me. Alice jested that it was a good thing I didn't live there, or I'd be arrested for vandalism to churches... probably true. Though better not the Jehovah's Witness aunt take that too seriously. Would not be good, I feel.
