Bodyworlds

Went to see Bodyworlds at the California Scence Center today. Why is this extra credit for Kevin's biology class but not for my courses?

Funny thing: I actually had to get a "sketch pass" which involved filling out a powerless form and getting a pink sticker with today's date handwritten on it TO BRING YOU THIS.

Some warm-ups in brush marker, during which I discover that the light gray pen is way more badass than the medium gray.

Front and back of The Archer, which was the first of many displays that make it clear this is no mere anatomy exhibit.

Markers were no longer sufficient in conveying the fine musculature depth. Also, GLAND.

The areas marked are bony structures that lack blood vessels. THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR TEXTURING OKAY.

I bet my classmate in Sculpture 1 wishes she had seen The Gymnast because she had such a tough time with the shoulders and arms on her project. Heck, I saw it for reals and I'm still not sure what's going on here.

And finally, I break out the sacred blue pencil for The Kneeling Lady.

Highly recommend to all who gets a chance to see.
