but never finished - Books, albuns and movies edition (followed by a brief explanation)
Books
- Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer - too pornographic and aimless
- John Steinbeck's East of Eden - good book, would have been even better hadn't I bought the wrong edition (something like "for dummies", all re-written - such a crime)
- Ray Bradbury's From the Dust Returned - I have no words to describe this one, just a facial expression: rolleyes
- David Leavitt's While England Sleeps - same as above, but for different reasons. So absolutely pretentious and crappy.
Movies
- Garden State - too damn indie
- The Young Lions - unfortunately, too dull (despite two of my favourite actors, Monty Clift and Marlon Brando)
- Casablanca - yawn
- 2001 - bigger yawn
Albuns
- The Doves' Some Cities - one great song and that's all I could save from this pretentious The Jam-wannabe.
- The Distillers' Sing Sing Death House - she sings like Courtney Love, could it be any worse? Only the instrumental section can redeem them.
- and many, many more that are blissfully forgettable.
