(From Mago Mago Arashi 120 2007/09/01)

I've written up Ohno's Cha-Han recipie as i wanted it for myself and i'd though that i would share!!! Its not perfect but its essentially what he does in the episode ^_^  Watch the episode to see how he does it.

If anyone wants to add anything or suggest any changes then go ahead! People can do what they want with the recipie - Its Ohno's not mine  ^_^ and cooking is for the world to enjoy!!

Also sorry for my appalling spelling ^^;;;;;

INGREDIENTS

2 Eggs (scrambled)
200g Octopus tenticales (About two legs) , Cleaned
1 Iceberg lettice
Rice (One mug-full)
1 Tin Canned Tuna, Drained
Sunflower oil - 1tbs
Nattou - 2 boxes
Salt and pepper to season

a. I've never had Nattou and don't even know how to get it where i live so i don't know how you buy it or how much it is. But in the episode Ohno used these little white boxes with it in.

1. Prepare the rice, Octopus and eggs and set aside.

a. Ohno scrambles the eggs  - but what I do is just break them into the Cha-Han when almost finished and it just cooks it's self)

b. I've never cooked Octopus. But what it seems you have to do it to boil the octopus pieces in salted water for 35 - 40 minutes until tender.  When they have cooled then you can chop them up into 2cm pieces and add them to the recipie when needed. (If you need any other help then just look on bbc food under Rick Stein - if anyone know how to cook it then its him!)

2. Heat up 1tbs oil in a medium sized frying pan and when hot add the tinned tuna.

3. When the tuna is heated, add the Octopus pieces and fry untill golden brown.

4. Wash the nattou to lessen the smell and add to the pan along with the eggs and rice. Cook until heated through.

5. Add the lettice pieces and mix untill wilted.

6. And to present it like Ohno, Put the Cha-Han into a breakfast bowl, pat it down and then turn upside down on on plate to serve!!

~ ~ ~ ~ ENJOY ~ ~ ~ ~

REMEMBER - if anyone actually makes this then remember that i haven't so use common sense and about sizes. I've done it by eye from the episode, so lt will have to be trial and error. But when i make it (and i will one day!!!) then i will adjust the recipie.
If its effort with the octopus then you can make it with other seafood such as squid or prawns which would taste really good. Add what you want to it such as chopped spring onions, water chestnuts, carrots - whatever you feel like nomming on!
