So, I woke up yesterday morning and subconciously decided that it would be a miserable day because I didn't have a 'valentine.' While just randomly reading some away messages one msg in particular caught my eye. It said something about 'why be miserable today? Being bitter will change nothing, so you might as well enjoy the day! ' That idea really stuck in my mind...as I got ready for the day, I started really thinking about the meaning of valentine's day...is it really just a commercially driven day or is there something more to celebrate? I started to realize for the first time in my life that valentine's day is purely the celebration of love...and it was such a sweet realization, because GOD IS LOVE. I immediately started praising God! I realized that by not participating in valentine's day, and by being bitter and rejecting it, I was actually rejecting God....and who wants to do that?! It's funny, because V-day is a day that the whole world (well...atleast the whole U.S.) uses to celebrate love...and because God is love...people celebrate God without even realizing it! :)
Okay, so maybe you don't really understand where I am coming from on this, but...sit down and really think about it. When the next valentine's day comes along, i strong encourage all of you to just think about the love you share with others-whether it be with your boyfriend/girlfriend, family, friends, or even just random people you don't know....Think about where that love comes from, and the reason you have the ability to love those people so strongly. Use that day to celebrate the love you have with the One who will never leave you, never give up on you, the one who romances you with beautiful sunrises each morning, sunny days, and tops off every single night with a sunset that is so glorious that it makes you stop what you are doing and just stand there, looking up at the most beautiful thing you have ever seen...
Yesterday was the most beautiful day ever. I finally pariticipated in the National Day of Love....and it was just totally amazing to celebrate God.
