Furfright recap ^^
Gonna ramble on about Furfright, which I think should be called Furawesome instead but that's besides the point!
Cut for you folks who whine when you have to scroll a bit extra =p
First I'd like to thank bjorn_grafeldr who was kind enough to give me space in his room which allowed all this to happen! So thank you, and don't worry, I know you're not a pedo-bear XD
And my cookies and brownies were great success, everyone I gave them too was like amazed that a dragon could bake such tasty treats :D
Friday:
Started my drive up shortly after 11, I reeeeeally need to stop drinking a cup of coffee during these trips cause for just a couple hour drive I had to stop to pee so many times, and I'm sure you all really wanted to know that ^_^
So I arrived mid-afternoon, dropped all my stuff off in the room and then ended up bumping into eradragon Hung out for a little bit, I helped him into his fursuit and we walked around the con area briefly. The con space was rather small but that's to be expected for such a con, you could walk around the dealer's den in a couple minutes XD And, believe it or not, I did not commission a single thing, that is a first for me at any convention. Anyways, Era and I separated shortly after that, I went to throw on my Nemmy jersey. I got heckled a bit wearing it but whatever, it's the best way to get people to find me, plus It's fun to be rockin the red.
I continue wandering around, eventually I bump into the two girls I would end up spending most of the con with! I don't know if they have LJs yet, but they are on FA at http://furaffinity.net/user/dark-dragoncat and http://furaffinity.net/user/lindserton They were both really cute and fun to hang out with, and it made me feel good that they thought I was worth being around ^_^ But yeah, they bump into me later that afternoon, they were both wearing their homemade fursuits at the time. We talk a bit, walk around the con area some more, head outside for some air where we keep on chattin it up. After a little longer we went to the ballroom as they were giving out free food, so that was our dinner, lol. We bumped into huntersblade as well at some point, the silly lizard who would also become a core member of our group during the weekend XD We had many deep discussions about how many dragons are subby vs dommy and I had to take a bunch of teasing for being a dragon XD And whenever I fought back I was being a stereotypical mean dragon, go figure! XD
Later on that evening we went to the dance. I have never in my life done any serious dancing outside of ddr but Dragoncat and Lindserton gave me glowsticks and convinced to try it out and I have to say, despite probably looking like a retard, it was a lot of fun! The music choice was rather poor friday night, had some good songs then they reverted back to like, slow 80s songs o.O; But we danced to the good ones and relaxed together in the headless lounge when they needed a breather (they were in their suits dancing as well). Eventually I drove them back to their hotel as they were staying at one of the overflows and then I crashed shortly thereafter as well.
Saturday:
This day started off in much the same way, exploring the con area and eventually hooking up with Dragoncat and Lindserton again. There really wasn't much to do, lol, so we wander back and forth a lot until the lizard joined us again. For lunch it was decided that we would hit up a nearby Japanese place, so it was the 4 of us plus some others whom I don't recall, one was named Tari I think? There were two other girls and a girly boy wearing revealing clothing that was.. creepy, to say the least XD
After lunch we went to a Walmart nearby, Dragoncat was brave and wearing her fursuit the whole time, got a lot of compliments and weird looks on it. I wonder if we'll end up on people of walmart! We all grabbed coffees at the dunkin donuts in there as well and paraded through the store like the awesome coffee drinking furries that we were.
Went back to the con hotel afterwards and did some more aimless wandering. Eventually we ended up in the zoo area where we joined likeshine and a snake named Kobura at a table. layra and her friend showed up as well and we had a great time just hanging out, talking, making Likeshine bristle at being called a pidgeon. Though she got revenge on us all by introducing us to a fetish called 'Internal Massage' Seriously, the things furs come up with will never cease to amaze me in how horrible they are. I also got a chance to show off my coffee making skills by giving the lizard and Layra some fresh brewed coffee from my Aeropress, I brought everything down and make it right there in the zoo :B
Afterwards we left the zoo and we went to a room party. DC, Lind, and I only stayed briefly, we thought there were going to be more folks we knew there but there weren't, lol, so DC ran away and the rest of us shortly followed. We ended up going to dance again that night to much better music, and again drove them back to their hotel. Then I went back and sat with mechedragon and Bodak at the poolside while they showed Rocky Horror Picture Show on a big screen. Had more drinks, then passed out in bed ^_^
Sunday:
Had a mild hangover I think, not a terrible one. So I started the morning off with a combination of coffee and chili bought at the concession area in the hotel lobby. Which is funny cause we were talking about all the weird things you probably shouldn't eat with coffee, but there's another new one for me, chili XD The lizard joined me later and then we had a fun moment with Uncle Kage (who was on con security) talking to some girl that was there. He was trying to explain to her that she should eat 2 square meals and not the snickers bar in her lap, and she got all defensive, asking how many cons he has been to to make him an expert on the subject. We were cracking up cause it was obvious she did not know who he actually was XD Kage just sighed and walked away after saying he's been to over 100 cons, hahaha.
We met with another group of furs later on and went to the Cromwell Diner for a late lunch, there was 9 of us overall and I don't remember everyone again D: But we all went back to the hotel again later and hung out at the zoo, I gotta get some pictures up again. Also met a couple of the more geeky, stereotypical dragons in the zoo, made me feel at least a bit more normal again XD
Sadly had to say goodbye to Dragoncat and Linderston shortly thereafter, and then I hit the road myself.
So overall it was an amazing time, truly, and I'm so happy I decided to go. I plan to stay in touch with Dragoncat and Linderston, I guess I did something right if they didn't run away from me XD So I'm hoping to add them to my hoard of good friends =) Did I mention they're both single too? XDD Haha nahh I'm not moving that fast, I swear =p
