Procrastinating in the Student Union building

Dec 03, 2007 13:57

Just came back from a 2 hour long review session. I'm so lazy, that i'll probably attend all 7 sessions and minimally review the notes before the final. I'd like to do more, but...
Put it this way, I'm functioning on 2 hours of sleep with nothing to show for it.
I wasted a day and a night with procrastination for useless trivia on wikipedia, punctuated by sending pointless emails to friends and a comforting phone call to user. Eventually the convo turned into her rant on transport systems and how they suck where we live but are super elsewhere. i really couldn't hear her above the loud indie music being played at the coffee shop so we both gave up after a while.

I'm in the study area of the student union building with the large tables where people have set up their laptops and notes. Some study in groups others, like me, quietly on their own, except that i'm not studying. I'm adding apple juice to my overly salted, large order of soup because i'm too lazy to get up and ask for hot water, among other things.

People are generally friendly in this town, but they're also quietly passive aggressive. Face-to-face they're polite and courteous, they'll open doors for you, thank the bus drivers when getting off the bus, even the bums are nice, if you're nice to them back that is. It's a nice friendly facade. Stripe away the faces and go to anonymity and...
well, i'm sitting at table with sticker letters in bold black on a white background with the friendly phrase: "CLEAN UP YOUR FUCKING MESS."

Anyway, it's not a bad day today, weather wise.
The snow's all melted away, its raining softly and it's not as cold anymore. It's a nice rain, almost warm rain.

God...I'm tired.
