JK's Spoilers - Probably old news by now, but definitely exciting!

I am speechless. So I'm making a post.
JK Rowling blabbed out so much. And I was just talking about how suprising it is that she hinted that strongly about Draco's future, before I learned she accidentally confirmed that the trio will survive.

While Jo is listing the characters who she'd invite to dinner, she names the trio but then pauses. The crowd begins to shout out other characters, but Jo responds, "I'm the only one who knows who lives through the series," accidentally implying that she could only list characters who make it through the final book. Her final two choices (after realizing what she said) were Dumbledore and Hagrid.

Ha-ha! Careful, woman! Now I know why she doesn't believe Oblivate is that bad of a spell.
Big Bad Spoiler! I wouldn't have believed that anyone of them died anyway. I'm worried enough for Snape.

Erm, talking about Snape. Rowling confirmed his loyalties? I can't hardly believe it.
Letting slip that the trio survives is one thing, but damn, Snape's role is near to the heart of the mystery. It's the big cliffhanger. It's ... confirmed?

Rushdie: It has always been made plain that Snape might be an unlikable fellow, but he was essentially one of the good guys. (Massive cheering) Dumbledore himself has always vouched for him. Now (unintelligible) Snape is a villain and Dumbledore's killed. We cannot, or don't, want to believe this. (Cheering and laughter). Our theory is that Snape is in fact still a good guy. We propose that Dumbledore can't really be dead. That this in fact is a ruse, cooked up between Dumbledore and Snape to put Voldemort off his guard. Harry then will have more friends than he knows when he and Voldemort do face. So, is Snape good or bad? (Massive cheering). It's plain to see, everything follows from this. (Cheering)

Jo: Your opinion, I would say, is right. However, I see I am going to have to be more explicit and say Dumbledore is definitely dead.

My theory is that he couldn't resist Salman Rushdie's reputation and adorable little son. She wouldn't have told a random fan, but in that situation she just couldn't play games.
...
Well, at least it was nothing I hadn't already guessed.

book 7, trio, hp, jkr, snape
