This one will make you die a little inside. Don't say I didn't warn you. And don't come to me whining that your brain lost valuable cells for operation. I said die a little inside, I meant that!

those were awesome links.

In terms of ODD - it's a bitch. I used to run an after school program at the mental health center for kids with problems - 90% had ADHD and ODD.
The only advice I can give is structure, supervision, and letting him feel the consequences of his actions. It's hard, you have my sympathies.

The main problem right now is we're trapped in a punishment cycle, and we're not the parents. We can advise, but the end decisions rest with them. And I'm not saying they're wrong, or that anything we/they do would necessarily be better.

At this point, I think they're just at their wits' end, because nothing--physical punishment (physical exercise, push-ups, sit-ups and the like, for each offense), talking (explaining how other people work), separation (from his iPod, from luxuries, from treats/desserts, from the family), loss of privileges (playing games with the family, watching TV, toys and the like)...nothing has worked.

But we'll see how it goes.
