I didn't want to work this hard. But I have to. Because everyone else is out on the patio gaming, and I'm the only one left in the house. I'm sitting here eating
seed crackers because I'm too tired to go upstairs and get cheese for 'em. Dinner tonight will likely be a couple protein bars and a LOT of iced tea. I've stripped the bed, flipped the mattress, changed the linens and the pillowcases, and all the other bedding is beginning to be washed. I've wiped down half the horizontal surfaces in this room, fixed one of the window screens when I opened the window, moved the fan in from the hallway, and the next time I get up, I'm lighting incense to take out the bitter tang from the air.
Oh, you forgot we were bug-bombing today, did you? I didn't. I knew, in the back of my head, all this work and more was waiting, but...I deliberately wasn't thinking of it.
Speaking of...Transporter 2. No spoilers, but I will say if you haven't seen the first one, you won't get nearly the amount of enjoyment out of the second. So rent the first, watch it, and then go grab seats in a theatre. I won't say it's better than the first one--but I will say it's equal, in terms of emotional weight, character consistency, and how fast the movie advances. And considering I thought the first film was damned good...yeah. That says a lot.
Did I mention Luc Besson, the writer and producer of the first one, wrote and produced the second? Yeah. Well-done from start to finish, and I am definitely now a
Jason Statham fan.
(Btw--I bought online using Fandango. You can't get that off with just a shower. I'm going to smell like Fandango all day now.)
evergrey was one of many who listened to the Mayor of New Orleans
lose it entirely, and with damned good reason. It's informative to read through. As she said--yeah, it's REALLY that bad down there.
There are Reiki-infused cows?
I'd bite you, but I don't want to risk getting whatever crazed psychopathic disease you have.
Really great healing spell.
Oh, dear.
I knew Shivian would get around to it at some point.
When we went out to lunch at Bob's, since it was Saturday, I actually got breakfast. The vegan French toast, made not-quite-anymore to one of the recipes I surfed for (no tahini, and they're using vegan egg replacer to thicken the batter), Earth Balance soy margarine, real maple syrup, and hash browns.
I couldn't tell the difference between the vegan French toast, and "real" French toast with egg batter. I'm highly impressed.
Two more points--first,
litlbuddha and his lady are now OUT OF THE CLUTCHES OF SPOKANE, so yay them. They're off to Chicago, as I'd thought. And I'm still sick. Not that you care, but I'm really starting to feel the strain in breathing.
And that's all for now. Though sometime this month, fashion shows start up again. So whee.
[Late edit--after the second load's been started, the rest of the house has come in from the cold, and I've sliced into the new block of cheddar--the cousin comes down and orders Pizza Hut. One large meat-lover's, one large with black olives, mushrooms and green peppers. Awww. I do not feel so unloved now. :) ]
And tip from
catmoran I thought was good enough to come back and edit in: for every NON-ANONYMOUS comment to
slackerace's
recent post, she will donate ONE DOLLAR to hurricane relief efforts.
Yeah. Beyond cool, man. I chipped in. Also seen on her journal--the Lowe's chain is matching dollar for dollar, donations given to disaster relief. Neat.
