Laughing In The Purple Rain
Okay, so the last couple days haven't been entirely shit....just mostly shit, with a few perfect moments.
Today, though...today is really, really important to me, all because I finally have this little book:
See it? Good. That's the COC art and lit magazine. This may not be very special to you....but on page 21, you can find (a much less blurry version of) this:
I know it's really hard to make out, my camera phone sucks, I'm sorry. But I swear to you that it says "Maggie May, by Andi McDonough". That right there? That means my name is in print for the very first time. It means that a big group of people read something original that I had to say, and decided that it was good enough to be published.
It's my very first step as a writer. It's a tiny one. But it's there. And I'm happy.
