My daughter has
swimmer's ear. Her ear was still bothering her this morning, so I took her to sick call at her pediatrician's office and it took the nurse practitioner all of two seconds to diagnose it. She's on prescription ear drops for the next seven days. I already did one round with her today and she took them quite well, thank God. I had to press the drops into her ear, which hurt her, but she was a champ. By tomorrow, the medicine should have reduced the swelling and inflammation enough that it won't hurt for the rest of the week. Alas, she has to keep her head out of the water, which pissed her off immensely. She likes to swim underwater. So we skipped the pool at my parents' house today, and I'm not sure how much swimming she'll do this week. Also, her baths will be interesting. I have no idea how I'm going to wash her hair.
When we went out with my friend Mish last week, I had to get up to take my daughter to the bathroom. My son stayed at the table with Mish and she was chatting with him.
Mish: So how is your food? Is it good?
My son: Why would I be eating it if it were bad?
Gotta love the directness of a seven year old.
