Ant invasion

This is our second summer at this house and we are having another round of ant problems. My husband has sprayed outside the house with ant killer, and has taped those little ant hotels (the ones where they check in, and check out with poison to bring back to their nests) to the side of our house. I think this has helped a little, but we still get an ant here and there and the dog has decided these things are a source of protein even though he gets fed very expensive dog food twice a day. If he sees an ant crawling on the floor, he stalks it, then jumps on it, plays with it, and eats it. Sometimes they don't quite make it all the way into his mouth and then I have to pull a dead ant out of his beard. Eewwww.

I am still tired but a little better, I think. Part of the problem with the damn CPAP machine is that when I roll over it bed it has to come with me. I move a lot in my sleep. Even though the air hose is really long for this type of stuff, sometimes it hits the side of the bed and makes a scraping sound that wakes me, because the hose is ribbed, or the hose will pop out of the mask a little, leaving me with rushing air and a hissing sound that wakes me, or it pops out altogether and that wakes me gasping and going WTF? Sometimes one of the side clips that attach around the back of my head to the front of my face also pop loose and I end up with the whole hissing air problem again. I have to force myself to get used to this stupid shit because I want so badly to have a good night's sleep. Argh.

I will end this miserable entry by not whining about the weather. It was beautiful here today, warm with a lovely blue sky and puffy white clouds. We went swimming with Sean's best friend and his sister at my parents' house. It was nice. We'll be at my parents' again tomorrow and probably again later this week because it seems like the daily rain is taking a break. Thank God.
