Girls gone wild

Oh, dear. Britney, what the hell? This girl has serious, serious Issues. She is clearly a poster child for "money doesn't buy happiness." So I'd like to know: Where are her parents?? If Britney (GOD FORBID) was my child, I would have been hopping a plane to her as soon as she started hanging out with Paris Hilton. Because you know that girl is nothing but bad news waiting to be photographed and made fun of. Also, I am guessing she has a manager, publicist, agent, etc. Why are none of these people stepping up and helping this child? Even though she is in her 20's, she is acting like a little kid and therefore is still a child in my eyes. Someone needs to help Brits before she ends up like Anna Nicole.

Lord, help. I saw this little tidbit on the local news last night, because Tom Brady is fairly close to God in these parts and damn, he's becoming a daddy? Huh. Well, I hope Bridget Moynahan is ready to be a single-mother because I'm thinking this whole little "trap a husband" ploy won't work, especially given that he is running around with a hot Victoria's Secret model these days. Although he does seem to be a pretty good guy - maybe he'll do the right thing. After a paternity test, of course. Also - how do two adults screw up birth control that badly in this day in age? Because I was on the pill for years and even when I occassionaly forgot a pill (and made it up ASAP), I never got pregnant until I was off it for a full month or two. Condoms? Please. That's like Russian roulette on a good day.

That ends the celebrity stupidity portion of this entry. Now, onto my own stupidity.

I went to the doctor on Thursday because I couldn't stand the pain of my ankle one day longer, and I wanted a solution now, damn it. I had been cooped up in the house for two days with two unhappy children and I needed help. So. I wasted my $15 co-pay because the nurse practitioner basically said there was nothing else I could do besides what I had already been doing. Icing, elevation, and rest seemed to be her advice. Well, thanks for nothing! But it does finally seem to be doing better. I still have to wear my air cast outside, because I don't want to slip and wreck the ankle again, but inside the house I have taken to gimping around without it. I have 50-75% of my range of motion back, and swelling has gone down even more. I still have pretty black and blue bruises, though. The NP said this was probably because I had a good tear in the ligaments/tendons. I can go up the stairs with no problem but going down the stairs is still painful, so I have to take one step at a time and turn my bad ankle sideways to make it. I'm sure this has to do with whatever tendon I tore. If anyone else has ideas on what I can do to fix that, please let me know.

I have to eat lunch now, and then we are getting the hell out of here. It's school vacation week and if we do one more day where we're in the house ALL DAY LONG, I might go insane.
