Gas was down to $2.29/gallon today! It only cost me $24.50 to fill my tank from half to full!! And there was much rejoicing in Nellymom land. Because God knows all I did today was DRIVE AROUND.
After walking my son down to the bus stop in an effort to get all of us a bit of fresh air and exercise, I began the rest of my morning by driving to the allergist's office to get my shot. Lucky me, only one today, for dust mites (it still itches). On the way back home, stopped to get cheapie gas as noted above. Got home, gave daughter a bath, hung out until it was time to go back down to the bus stop to bring son back home. Ate lunch.
Then proceeded to take BOTH CHILDREN to the dermatologist's office, where both daughter and I had an appointment. Noted on the way that one particular part of our city really stunk like poop - to the point I checked my daughter's underwear AND the bottom of all of our shoes and found nothing. The City just stank. Dr. Skin admired how my daughter's eczema has cleared up and pretty much said she didn't need to come back unless she had a flare-up. Yay! Then Dr. Skin admired my beautiful adult acne; I swear, I could solve this country's oil problem if they just collected it from my chin. Yuck. He told me the wierd thing on the side of my nose was benign, as was a mole that was bothering me. Double Yay!
Left Dr. Skin's office and headed to the public library. Kids picked out videos, one each, VeggiTales and Dora the Explorer. I picked up a few books. Then we headed out, with me stopping again on the way home to cast my useless vote in the Primary for Democratic Candidate for governor of my semi-lovely state.
My daughter passed out in exhaustion on the way home from the polls. We went into the house, where I read a little bit while my daughter slept and my son played on the computer. I also checked my email and my
myspace site. Someone invited me to see a tribute to Pantera in Connecticut. I can't imagine how anything in my profile over there would have drawn that type of invite, but at least it was good for a laugh.
I don't expect tomorrow to be any less busy; in fact, it will probably be worse. I have to take my daughter to her play-group; then I will be finding out if my cholesterol level has improved at all, and try to explain to my regular internist why I am such a fat-ass right now. As long as it's not raining, my son has a soccer game, and then I am going to my first jewelry-making class to see if I have any talent in that area. I have nothing planned for Thursday. Thank God.
